MATCH#2: WCW CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
Eddie Guerrero (c) vs Rey Mysterio Jr.
DATE OF MATCH: October 26, 1997

FUN TRUE FACT: This match took place at Halloween Havoc.

FUN TRUE FACT: I have a VHS video of the 1989 edition of Halloween Havoc. The first ever Halloween Havoc. Remember the Thunderdome
cage match? That's there in all it's glory.

Mysterio gains the upper hand in a flurry. Too quick for his opponent, who ends up being crossbodied over the top rope by the man in the mask. Rey goes for another attack, but Guerrero pulls him off the apron, and sends Mysterio into the ring steps. Eddie with full control of the match, until he is countered off the ropes by Mysterio, and receives a dropkick for his troubles. Rey goes for a Springboard Elbow, but Guerrero counters it, into a backdrop. Eddie nails a BrainBuster for the two, as it's revealed that Mysterio's mask is on the line in this match. Eddie nails Rey with a Tilt-a-Whirl backbreaker for another two count. Guerrero applies an Abdominal Stretch, trying to remove the mask in the process. Guerrero lets go of the hold, by hitting Rey Rey with another backbreaker, which brings near falls. Mysterio tries to escape, and ends up doing so by leaping on the ropes, and hitting Guerrero with a DDT. Rey Rey with a running dropkick, sends Eddie to the outside. Mysterio looks to leap out, but Guerrero gets in the ring, and when Rey gets to the apron, Eddie dropkicks him off the apron, and onto the floor.

Eddie with a Bow and Arrow lock on Mysterio, then he sends him across the ropes and connects with a dropkick for the two count.

Guerrero with Mysterio in the corner, but Rey tries to fight out of it. However it ends badly for the masked superstar, as he ends up in the dreaded Tree of Woe. Guerrero gets a dropkick in, but misses the second, and ends up wishboned in the turnbuckle post, as Mysterio was able to pull himself up. Rey Rey with a splash off the top rope, onto Guerrero on the outside. He sends him back in, then whips him across, Guerrero goes for a Tilt-A Whirl, but Mysterio escapes and applies the Hurrancanrana pin for the two count. Eddie catches him with a hard clothesline, then whips Rey across. Mysterio goes for the Lionsault, but doesnt connect, and after a tussle in the ropes, Rey Rey connects a headscissor, sending Guerrero to the outside. Mysterio then flips over the top and takes out his opponent with another headscissor.

Rey Rey up top, and nails Eddie with a Corkscrew Moonsault for the long two. Mysterio with a slam, then looks for the Split-Legged Moonsault, but Guerrero counters and hits a Powerbomb into a pin for another long two.
