I just heard word that wrestling columnist/writer
Georgiann Markpolous has passed away at the age of 67.
Georgiann is someone that, as a fan in New York, I came to know years ago.
My first interaction came with her at John Arezzi's conventions in the early 1990s.
Long before there ever was a World Wrestling Insanity, Georgie was someone I had the utmost respect for and wanted to emulate.
She was a consummate professional who had the respect of everyone who worked with her or was blessed to know her.
Over the past few years, Georgie has been on my press release mailing list and she's one of the few I would send personal messages back and forth with each time.
She was always upbeat and willing to give me advice on hitting it big in Atlantic City or a phone number for someone to interview.
Many of my past guests were set up through her and I can't even begin to tell you all how wonderful she was to work with in setting things up.
Over time, I came to consider her a friend and her emails always brought a smile to my face.
I will miss her tremendously and send my thoughts and prayers to her family and friends.
She was a wonderful person and those who were blessed to know her realize how lucky they are.
In a business full of shady characters and grifters, Gerogie was a class act and truly one in a million.
Mike Johnson at PWInsider.com (who worked with Georgie at 1Wrestling.com) has posted a wonderful obituary for her at the following link: http://www.pwinsider.com/article/44587/georgiann-makropoulos-passes-away.html?p=1
