ROH TV Episode 62 Featuring Jerry Lynn & Delirious vs. The All Night Express, The 10-Minute Hunt, And More

By James Bullock Jun 25, 2010 - 10:14 AM

6/21/10: Tonight, Delirious returns to the ring on HDNet when he teams up with Jerry Lynn to take on The All Night Express of Kenny King and Rhett Titus, managed by Austin Aries. After Mike Hogewood and Dave Prazak talk about how great Death Before Dishonor VIII was, they send us to the ring for an introduction of the TV champ, Eddie Edwards.

Eddie Edwards isn’t out here just to brag about how he’s the first ROH TV champion. Eddie Edwards is here to announce “The Eddie Edwards 10 Minute Hunt” (with swank graphics. And by “swank” I mean somewhat corny). If someone can last, or even defeat the champ in ten minutes, that person will get a TV title shot in the future. And that brings out…a dwarf?

10-Minute Hunt: TV champion Eddie Edwards w/Shane Hagadorn vs. Nick Westgate
Edwards mocks Westgate’s height as a way to get the jump on his prey. Didn’t work too well as Westgate fought back with a head scissors. Westgate bounced off the ropes, right into a back elbow. After dropping Westgate across the top rope stomach first, Edwards dropkicked little Nick to the floor. When the action returned to the ring, Nick tried to fight to an advantage, only to get slammed on the mat via a hip toss. Westgate propelled off the ropes after the whip, catching Eddie with a DDT. Westgate quickly jumped to the top rope for something. Eddie caught him in midair, putting him in position for the single leg Boston crab. Instead of turning Westgate over, Edwards just started stomping Nick’s head until the ref stopped this Hunt with 7:18 remaining.

In the back, Austin Aries stood with his first clients as a manager-King and Titus. Aries promises that tonight, King and Titus will unleash on Lynn and Delirious. And what better way to motivate his men than by promising them beautiful women if they win tonight. And I’m not talking about some fake women. I mean some hot chicks Aries made enter the scene to show Titus and King what to look forward to tonight after they beat Delirious and Lynn.

Sara Del Rey w/Kings of Wrestling & Shane Hagadorn vs. Reggie
Reggie looks like she’s from Denver, all right. I know I just killed my Denver reading audience. Reggie shocked Del Rey with her acumen and agility, almost pinning Sara off a jackknife cradle. Sara bridged from the mat, gut-wrench suplexing Reggie across the ring. After kicking Reggie in her ample chest, Del Rey stiffly kicked Reggie’s back. Hair mare by “Death Rey”, followed by a kick to the side of Reggie’s head. With Reggie dangling in the ropes, Sara unleashed a few more kicks. Del Rey ducked too early on the back body drop attempt, almost getting cradled for a three count. Flying leg lariat from Reggie gets her a two count. Before Reggie could finish Del Rey off, Hero and Castagnoli distracted the ref so Hagadorn could grab Reggie. Reggie got free of Shane’s grip, turning into the capo kick. Sara hoisted Reggie off the mat, hitting the piledriver. SLAP THE PORPOISE, IT’S OVER FOLKS!

After being reminded that King and Titus almost broke Jerry Lynn’s neck last year, we hear from the former ROH World champion. Lynn understands the risks that comes with this business, but can’t stand the viewpoint that King has in regards of making a career off of ending someone else’s.

Skullkrusher Rasche Brown vs. Ricky Reyes
Reyes tried to chop the much larger Brown down, but ended up in Brown’s grip and a gorilla press slam. Reyes was able to get to his feet before slipping behind the big man. Reyes downed Brown after several shots to Brown’s legs. Brown was stuck on the ropes until Reyes went for a single leg takedown. In a not so smart move, Brown tried to suplex Reyes. Reyes shoulder tackled Rasche’s left leg before knee barring Brown. Using those long legs, Rasche kicked his way to freedom. Reyes took too much time posing to the crowd, allowing Brown to recover and spear him when he turned around. Brown couldn’t get all of his weight behind the move, allowing Reyes to kick out before the three count. Once again, Reyes clipped Brown’s legs. For some reason, Reyes scaled the ropes. Brown got to his feet in time to pull Reyes out of the corner, hitting the Burning Hammer to win, arguably, his toughest match to date in ROH.
As Brown walked up the ramp, Erick Stevens attacked Brown. We have a pull apart brawl on our hands. Not the most epic, but worked nonetheless.

Delirious stands in front of the camera, breathing heavily between shots of Austin Aries going all Macho Man on Delirious’ throat. Daizee Haze steps on screen to tell us that there’s only one thing on Delirious’ mind, “Revenge.”

Next week, Necro Butcher takes on Erick Stevens. Also, the ROH World champ will be in action when he takes on El Generico in a non-title match.

Austin Aries hits the ring to do what he does best: smoke a pipe between incredible promos. Via the A-Double cam, we witness the greatness of Austin Aries as he reminds up of how he busted Delirious’ throat in a move that actually sickened Aries. But instead of accepting Aries’ apology, Delirious attacked him. And that match won’t be happening for a while because Aries is now going to outdo Jim Cornette by being, “the greatest man-ager that ever lived.”

The All Night Express vs. Jerry Lynn & Delirious w/Daizee Haze
Delirious’ left shoulder is taped up, and he doesn’t go crazy when the bell rang. Lynn easily outwrestled Titus, causing “Addicted to Love” to scurry to lower ground. Titus reentered, using his boot to rake Lynn’s face. Lynn avoided the elbow drop, slamming Titus three times before tagging out. Delirious immediately went after Aries on the floor. Instead of catching Aries, Delirious got clotheslined by Titus; who was waiting by the side of the ring. Jerry slid through the ropes, dropkicking Titus before King flew over the top rope, downing his partner instead of colliding with his opponents. Delirious and Lynn was double team elbow dropping Titus to the satisfaction of the fans. Face plant into the senton by Delirious only got him a two count. Delirious gave Titus a taste of his own medicine by choking and clotheslining Titus’ throat.
Delirious belly to back suplexed Titus for another two count. Lynn tagged in after Titus pushed Delirious into the wrong corner. Thumb to Lynn’s eyes blinded Jerry long enough for Titus to tag out. King ran into Lynn’s hip toss, then his opponents’ double flapjack, followed by stereo dropkicks. Titus grabbed Delirious by the mask as he rained down punches to King’s face, driving Delirious throat first into the top rope. Big clothesline from King caused Delirious to have breathing problems. King and Titus were using quick tags and high impact double teams to keep Delirious grounded. Titus had Delirious reeling as the fans got behind the masked man. Delirious reversed the suplex, but was too close to the wrong corner. King tagged in, knocking Delirious down before clotheslining Lynn. But spin kick from King down Delirious for two seconds. Delirious stopped the shotgun knees before knocking Titus down before tagging out.
Jerry Lynn was on fire, punching and DDT’ing King with ease. Delirious didn’t notice Aries grabbing Haze as Lynn TKO’ed King into Shadows Over Hell. Titus saved King from taking the loss, but ended up meeting Delirious’ leg from the top. Aries got desperate after King took the Panic Attack. When Delirious scaled the ropes, A-Double grabbed Daizee by the hair. Delirious dove from the top rope, taking down Aries and Daizee. In the ring, Titus dropkicked Lynn into the swinging back breaker by King. With Lynn stuck across King’s knee, Titus dove off the top, knee dropping Lynn. King unfolded Lynn, gaining the victory after a three count.
Lynn had chase Aries and crew out with a chair when they were about to attack Delirious’ throat again.
