Last week, we witnessed the first ever Tag Team Honor Rumble, with The Briscoes taking the win after Mark Briscoe eliminated Eddie Edwards. Mike Hogewood and Dave Prazak decided to congratulate The Briscoes for their win before talking about the Austin Aries Lucky Lottery, which is happening for the second time on HDNet, right now.

Kyle Durden introduced the ROH World champion, who allowed Durden to hold the hat that will give us Aries’ challenger tonight. And that man is…Alex “Sugarfoot” Payne!

ROH World title: Austin Aries vs. Alex Payne
Aries just outclassed Payne in the first few moments of this third World title defense on HDNet. Payne tried to free himself from a side headlock, but realized quickly, you can’t head scissor Austin Aries. STO into the power drive elbow misses Payne, giving “Sugarfoot” the chance to get some momentum. Payne countered the suplex into a side Russian leg sweep, angering the fans. Aries stopped the diamond dust by turning it into a shoulder breaker. Payne stumbled to his sugary feet, allowing Aries to dropkick the sugar out of him. Brain Buster…doesn’t end this one because Aries wanted to make Payne tap out in the Last Chancery.
Aries wouldn’t break the hold until Bryan Danielson hit the ring, throwing out the challenge to face Aries right now. Aries entered the ring before leaving on the other side after telling Bryan Danielson, “Not tonight.”

Tonight’s main event is Chris Hero vs. KENTA. Hero spoke on the matter, saying his style is fusion of the heavyweight and junior heavyweight styles, with a dash of hard elbows for good measure. Hero posed the question of who has the stronger strikes, “KENTA’s kicks, or my elbows?” We shall see tonight.

On 9/21, Bison Smith Necro Butcher had a pull a part brawl, leading to tonight’s contest.

Necro Butcher vs. Bison Smith w/The Embassy
The two behemoths just slugged it out until Bison cornered Necro, crushing him between the turnbuckles and his massive body. Spilling the floor, Bison slung Necro against the barricades. For some reason, the referee didn’t stop the match when Bison used a chair to choke Butcher. Back in he ring, Necro blocked a clothesline, firing off chops and right hands before unleashing the big foot. Bison was taking all of Necro’s blows before turning a slam on Necro. Driving his knee into Necro’s back, Smith got some words of encouragement from Prince Nana. Nana also threw some forearms across Necro’s chest while Bison distracted the referee. Necro threw a wild right when Bison scaled the ropes, knocking Smith out of the ring. This left Bison wide open for Necro’s somersault off the apron. Necro saw his chance, grabbing a chair. The two got in a chair duel. When Necro lost his chair, Butcher and Smith struggled over Smith’s chair, leading to a couple of back and forth chair shots. The referee decided to just count them out, leading to another massive brawl in the crowd that was only stopped by a trashcan to the neck of Smith, a wicked chair shot to Necro’s skull, and a slew of referees and wrestlers.

Next week, Colt Cabana will take on Claudio Castagnoli in the battle of the Double-Cs. Lets hear some words from Cabana. Cabana felt his last job in a certain company up north held back his creative juices from exploding. But now they can. Speaking of exploding juices…

  Rhett Titus vs. Tyler Black
Titus used the honorable handshake to cheap shot Black in the mouth. With his fist! Please get your mind out of the gutter. Black turned the sexiest suplex into a flying forearm. Black tried to rush Titus, but ended up getting sent face first into the middle turnbuckle. Black back flipped his way out of missing the dropkick, back body dropping Titus before stomping on Rhett’s throat. Another cheap shot by Titus ended with Black tripping Titus before setting up for a springboard attack. Titus jumped up, dropkicking Black to the floor instead. Titus avalanche splashed Black before clotheslining him for a near fall. Black fought his way out of the neck crank, neck breaking Titus. Black propelled off the ropes, hitting some high impact moves. Titus got kicked in the back of his head, leaving Titus open for Black’s springboard clothesline. Titus stopped the turnbuckle power bomb, kicking Black in the face with authority. Black caught Titus’ second kick, showing his hip swiveling technique. It didn’t help as Black got dropped with a modified curtain call. Black flipped out of the Muff Driver with the help of the ropes, Pele kicking Titus into God’s Last Gift to pick up the three count. Jerry Lynn congratulated Black on his win.

Speaking of Lynn, he’ll be taking on Kenny King next week. Also next week, the ROH World title will be on the line when Aries defends against Bryan Danielson

KENTA vs. Chris Hero w/Shane Hagadorn & Sara Del Rey
The hot crowd was split down the middle in support of both men. Pretty much a stalemate in the opening minutes of this highly anticipated contest. Hero refused to break clean when they tumbled into the ropes, leading to a chop/forearm exchange, followed by the KENTA kicks that weakened Hero’s knees. Hero fired back, only to get kneed in the abdomen. Before Hero could get up, KENTA nearly kicked Hero’s spine through his chest. Hero made it to the ropes to stop the body scissors. KENTA went for a shoulder ram in the corner, but ran into a boot to the face instead. Hero connected with one of those elbows. The following flash kick let out a sickening smack similar to his elbow. A chop from Hero sent KENTA to the floor. Hero missed the baseball slide, allowing KENTA to forearm Hero in position for some more of those sternum-cracking kicks. Showing amazing balance, Hero used an Irish whip toward the barricades to unleash a springboard elbow on the rebound. And the move only got Hero a near fall. Hero stood tall after clawing KENTA’s face while hooking KENTA’s arms. When KENTA couldn’t get up off his own power, Hero elbowed KENTA’s jaw before using a senton splash. Another elbow to KENTA’s chest dropped the NOAH star. This left KENTA in position for a stretch plum. KENTA scooted to the ropes in time to save himself. KENTA got up throwing stiff forearms. Running big boot from KENTA has turned the tides in KENTA’s favor. Diving clothesline from KENTA got him a near fall. KENTA caught the incoming boot, locking Hero on the STF. Del Rey gave a little assist to Hero by pushing the bottom rope toward his crawling body. Hero rushed the running KENTA, elbowing him in the mouth before suplexing KENTA on the back of his head. And somehow KENTA kicked out before the three count Once again, Hero locked KENTA in a stretch plum. Hero tried to turn it into a pinning predicament, but ended up allowing KENTA to escape via the ropes. Series of elbows from Chris got the fans riled up. Running flying forearm from Hero gave him some momentum for a leaping attack. KENTA caught Hero on his shoulders. Hero stopped Go 2 Sleep, going elbow for elbow with KENTA until both men threw clotheslines that leveled the other. KENTA got up, dropkicking Hero in position for that yakuza kick in the corner. Hero took it, following the running KENTA across the ring before unleashing a yakuza kick of his own. KENTA pulled a Hero, three times! Fisherman buster on Hero left Chris on the canvas for KENTA’s super double stomp. Hero showed his fighting spirit by kicking out before the three count. Rapid-fire strikes from KENTA led to the uziku knee, and another near fall. Shane Hagadorn jumped on the apron as Del Rey grabbed KENTA’s boots. KENTA kicked her away, and knocked Hero backwards, but Hero recovered fast enough to catch KENTA when he turned around with another elbow to the jaw. Hero executed another Rolling Elbow to the back of KENTA’s head. The fans went wild when KENTA kicked out of Hero’s follow up pin. “This is awesome,” ran through the arena as KENTA blocked Hero’s attempt at the GTS. KENTA couldn’t fight back enough, getting Rolling Elbowed in the neck again. And KENTA kicked out again. Del Rey threw in the emerald elbow pad of Misawa-ness. Before Hero could use it, Eddie Kingston ran out, yanking it off of Hero’s arm. Hero turned from Kingston, getting knocked out by Go 2 Sleep. KENTA just SLAPPED THE PORPOISE!
