8/9/10: After a promo video promoting tonight’s main event, we shot to the arena to find Jim Cornette standing with the ROH World champion Tyler Black. Cornette gave the microphone to Black after congratulating him on winning the title, and defending it like a real champion. Black promised to show he’s the best wrestler in the world tonight when he defeats Christopher Daniels before going all bleeding heart babyface. You know the type of promo where he sucks up to his supporters, and gives the non-fans free will to cheer whomever they want. Thankfully, Black stepped it up a notch, and started ragging on the loser fans that do nothing but hate on Black for the sake of hating. “If you don’t respect me, I have no reason to respect you,” Black said before declaring that he’s holding onto the belt for a long time. That’s the kind of promo Black needs to cut from now on.

Butcher’s Rules: Necro Butcher w/The Embassy vs. Rasche Brown
Right after the opening video, we find Necro-sporting a bald head-and Brown going at it like two bald behemoths. Kobashi-like chops from Brown got the fans cheering. Necro took a big boot to the face before being clotheslined to the floor. Osiris handed Butcher a chair as Brown got the fans behind him. Brown wanted to sail through the ropes, but ran into a chair instead. Swinging neck breaker after the failed jackknife cover couldn’t keep Brown on his back. Necro asked Nana for the chair as Brown recovered on the floor. Brown caught Necro coming off the apron with a turkey shot. “Skullkrusher” pitched Necro off the apron, to the padded concrete. Necro reentered the ring with a chair. Before we could get a chair duel, the rest of The Embassy hit the ring.
The timekeeper rung the bell as the locker room emptied out to help Necro from the five on one beat down. The only people able to save Necro were The Dark City Fight Club. As The Embassy fled, Rasche and The Dark City Fight Club stood tall in the ring.

Kyle Durden was in the back with Christopher Daniels to talk about what Tyler Black said just minutes ago. Black explained that tonight, it’s all about pride and respect since no title is on the line. Daniels felt disrespect in Black’s words tonight before promising to take respect from Tyler Black tonight. And in the future, Daniels will take the title from Black

Roderick Strong earned a World title shot whenever he wants it at Death Before Dishonor VIII. Next week, that title shot is on the line when Strong takes on Davey Richards.

Davey Richards reflected on his match with Tyler Black at DBD VIII. Davey gave Tyler his due, and noted that he’s grown leaps and bounds during the course of that match. Davey is a little ashamed of the person Roderick’s become since adding Truth Martini to his plans to accomplish what seems to the impossible for Strong.

Colt Cabana vs. Alex Anthony
Prazak makes the best observation ever when he says, “Alex Anthony looks like a cross between Little Richard and Sabu.” Cabana has a little laugh when coming face to face with Alex. Cabana even got Todd Sinclair in on the hilarity. Cabana seemed to channel Matt Classic with his impressive counter trips. Flying @$$hole leads to the bionic elbow and the Billy Goat’s Curse…SLAP THE PORPOISE, IT’S OVER FOLKS!

Before Cabana could celebrate, Steen walked to ringside with a chair. This was only a distraction for Corino and his chain-covered arm. Referees and wrestlers weren’t able to help Corino from choking the life out of Cabana. Thankfully for Cabana, Generico ran to ringside, using a chair to save and protect Cabana.

The World’s Greatest Tag Team is coming to take on The Kings of Wrestling at Glory By Honor IX. I love it.

Kyle Durden stood with Roderick Strong and Truth Martini. Martini pimps The Book of Truth, and its famous quotes. I want that book. Strong mocks Davey’s hard knock life, telling Richards that he’s only a steppingstone to Strong winning the World title.

ROH World champion Tyler Black vs. Christopher Daniels
Neither gained an advantage via strength during the initial collar & elbow tie up. Both showed their wrestling acumen and agility. The fans were split in their support of both men. Black rolled out of a snap mare, dropkicking Daniels to the shock of “The Fallen Angel.” Daniels picked up the pace, only to arm drag Black before barring that left arm. Daniels did this several times anytime Black got free. Black tried to turn the pace of the match up, but found himself on the mat again due to the STO. When Black tried to kick Daniels away, Daniels caught the leg, using it to spin Black around so he could stomp Tyler’s arm. Daniels waited for Black to get up before forearming him against the ropes. Daniels took a few steps back for something, but Black back dropping the charging Daniels. Christopher landed on the apron. Black stopped Daniels from reentering with the Pele kick. Black’s somersault plancha connected. Daniels went headfirst against the barricades. Black draped Daniels across the canvas before hitting a running boot to the side of Daniels’s head.
When the action returned to the ring, Black used that leaping stomp to gain a near fall. Daniels tried to fight back, but ended up getting kicked in his back for his troubles. Black looked a little frustrated after kicking Daniels in the face again, but couldn’t get a win off of it. Black figure four headlocked Daniels after arguing with the referee. Daniels bridged out of the hold. Black quickly clotheslined Daniels off his feet as the cheers for Daniels increased. Black whipped Daniels into the ropes for a dropkick. Seeing Daniels hang on, Black flipped through the failed attack, landing on his feet. Daniels caught Black running with a boot to his jaw. Christopher Daniels hoisted him off the mat, executing a blue thunder driver.
Both men were weary as they struggled to their feet. Daniels avoided Black’s wild swings, using an enzuguri to set up an Arabian press. Daniels used a running forearm/death valley driver combination, but was unable to win. Black blocked the Angel’s Wings, cradling Daniels. When Daniels kicked out, Black quickly rolled onto his back, kicking Daniels on his head before he could get off his knees. Daniels stopped the turnbuckle power bomb by driving Black face first into the middle turnbuckle. Fall From Grace only got Daniels a two count. Daniels called for the Best Moonsault Ever. Black grabbed Daniels’ legs, inside cradling him. Daniels kicked out, back body dropping Black onto the apron. Black landed on his feet, using an enzuguri to knock Daniels far enough for the springboard clothesline. Tyler was astonished that Daniels kicked out of Black’s follow up pin. Daniels avoided the Phoenix Splash, but not the super kick, or the charging forearm. Paroxysm couldn’t give Black the much-deserved three count.
Black begged for Daniels to get up so he could put him down for good. Daniels did rise, catching Black’s Pele kick, putting Black in the Koji clutch. Black showed his incredible strength, powering off the mat before slamming Daniels into the turnbuckles. Daniels stopped the super kick, leading to a series of pin fall exchanges. Just as Daniels turned a small package against Black, the bell rang. The twenty-minute time limit has been reached, and this match is a draw. That sucks because this was an awesome match.

Roderick Strong and Truth Martini came to ringside so Strong could cash-in his World title shot. Before a match could be made, Davey Richards entered the fray to remind Roderick that next week, that title shot will be up for grabs when they fight. Daniels reminded Davey and Roderick that the only man between the three top challengers that Black hasn’t beaten is Christopher Daniels. Black angrily stood as Daniels, Davey, and Roderick argued over who could beat Black when the title is on the line.

Before I close out, I’d like to say my prayers go out to the family of Lance Cade. God bless.
