ROH World champion Austin Aries, followed by Kenny King and Rhett Titus, walked down the aisle for the Austin Aries Lucky Lottery. After excusing Kyle Durden, Aries was ready to pick the name of who would face him for the ROH World title right here, right now. And the winner is…KENNY OMEGA! Wait, Omega isn’t even here, so that’s not happening. Okay, the real winner is…GRIZZLY REDWOOD!

ROH World title: Austin Aries (c) vs. Grizzly Redwood

The fans chanted, “Next World champ,” at the sound of the bell. Aries feigned a test of strength on his knees, but found he was too short in that position. He wasn’t short enough to overhead suplex Redwood across the ring. Aries stopped the running big foot, clotheslining Redwood beard first. Gorilla press slam by Aries got him a near fall. Grizzly was able to chop Aries’ legs from underneath him. Grizzly actually caught the incoming champion, press slamming him in to a bulldog. Redwood almost got the pin off the combo. Aries stopped Grizzly’s ascension to the top, dropkicking Grizzly in the face. Brain Buster ends another successful defense.

Kyle Durden tried to get a word from Aries about the future of the A-Double L-Double. Aries proclaimed that his World title lottery isn’t ending anytime soon.

We get some highlights from last week’s main event, including the announcement of Ladder War 2 between Steenerico and The American Wolves. The champs spoke on the match, promising nothing but bloodshed and pain instead of wrestling.

Mike Hogewood couldn’t help but talk about the greatness of ROH’s feuds. One of those feuds is Eddie Kingston and Chris Hero. Both men spoke on their rivalry, with Hero blaming jealousy for Kingston’s hatred. Eddie just said Hero didn’t deserve anything in terms of being a part of ROH. Hero promises that his match with Eddie in NYC this weekend will be one of the best matches of the show.

Erick Stevens vs. Brandon Day

Day couldn’t out power the big man, ending with a flapjack into a chop after Day bounced off the mat. Day was able to drop Stevens throat first across the top rope before springing through the ropes with a spear. Gut-buster by Day got him a two count. Stevens hip tossed his way out of the abdominal stretch. German suplex by Stevens set up for a successful choo-choo rush. Doctor Bomb and Stevens picks up another win.

Tyler Black spoke on several topics, including Nigel McGuinness, Jerry Lynn, and keeping his eye on the ball.

Next week it’ll be Tyler Black and Jerry Lynn taking on Rhett Titus and Kenny King.

Kyle Durden was with KENTA, Bryan Danielson, and Roderick Strong to talk about their main event contest against The American Wolves and Chris Hero. Bryan put over Strong’s chops and KENTA’s kick before telling us he’s the best submission wrestler on the planet.

Jimmy Rave w/The Embassy vs. Necro Butcher

Jimmy got the jump on Necro on the floor. Necro easily turned it around, whipping Rave from one side of the aisle to the other. After removing a piece of the barricade, he battering rammed Rave. Inverted atomic drop on the top of the guardrail. The action finally hit the ring, but the match hasn’t officially started due to Necro putting the guardrails across the ring and the barricades. Rave clipped Necro’s leg, I guess, to officially start this thing. Ernie Osiris stepped in as Rave distracted the ref, grabbing a chair in an attempt to snap Necro’s ankle. Senton splash to Butcher’s ankle as it was propped on the chair. Butcher made it to the ropes to avoid from tapping out in the Heel Hook. Necro stopped another Heel Hook attempt, back dropping Rave over the top rope, onto the barricade Necro set up earlier. As the referee ran out to check on Rave, Ernie slipped in as Nana distracted Necro. Butcher turned around to find Ernie rushing him with a staple gun. Necro stopped Osiris, getting stapled instead. Bison Smith ran in before Necro could staple Rave. The locker room emptied as the two brawlers fought from one side of the ring to the other. Necro was declared the winner due to Bison’s interference.

We get a video package to highlight the history of Claudio Castagnoli vs. Brent Albright to get us ready for next week’s main event between the two in steel cage.

ROH World Tag Team champions The American Wolves & Chris Hero vs. KENTA, Bryan Danielson, & Roderick Strong

Honorable handshake from Hero. Hero started off with Bryan Danielson. Both men jockeyed for an advantage, but neither could get one. Danielson broke free before Hero could drag him to the wrong part of town. Strong and Eddie tagged in, leading to Eddie get cross body block. All three men were ping-ponging Edwards until KENTA attempted to kick his chest in. Running big boot by KENTA got him a near fall. Danielson came in, only to get pushed backwards so Davey could tag in and kick him in the back. Danielson turned a cross arm bar into a Cattle Mutilation attempt. Both men were going strike for strike, leading to a stalemate. Davey fired up Danielson, getting whipped into the ropes so Eddie could tag himself in without Bryan’s knowledge. Eddie kicked Danielson in the side of his head before Danielson could get anything started, leading to some stereo kicks. Danielson got his knees up to block the caperana from Eddie, putting the champ in a triangle choke. Everyone else was fighting on the floor until Eddie powered himself and Bryan off the mat. Davey jumped up, backstabbing Danielson out of the sky. Strong broke up the pin, but didn’t do too much to help. Half Boston crab by Eddie on Danielson until Bryan made it to the ropes. Hero tagged in, unleashing a dropkick to Danielson’s head. Hero made sure Danielson wasn’t near his partners. Davey did the same, locking in a modified Indian deathlock. Davey pitched Danielson to the floor so Bryan could be whipped leg first into the barricades. Danielson tried to fight both Wolves off, bet ended up getting set up for the Alarm Clock. Danielson blocked the kick portion of the move by Davey. Davey jumped up, but Danielson ducked, causing Richards to kick his own partner. Danielson exploded with a running knee on Davey after flipping out of a German suplex. Danielson jumped over, tagging KENTA.

KENTA with the flying clothesline to Davey. Springboard dropkick/running kicks combo by KENTA led to a sit-down power bomb near fall. Davey stopped Go 2 Sleep, leading to a series of strikes from both men that ended when Davey used a handspring enzuguri to tag out to Hero. Hero elbowed KENTA into la-la land until KENTA threw a wild kick. Hero ducked, connecting with the Rolling Elbow. KENTA somehow kicked out before the three count. Another Rolling Elbow, but no three count for Hero. KENTA used the third Rolling Elbow to clothesline Hero before tagging in Strong.

Big series of running forearms from Strong. Hero fought back with a couple of his own, but ended up running into a dropkick. Falcon arrow by Strong couldn’t pin Hero. Strong caught Hero running with a chop. Hero retaliated by flash kicking Strong. Davey tagged in, only to get back dropped over the top rope. Davey landed on his feet, jumped up to kick Strong in the back of his head as Eddie forearmed him in the front. Missile dropkick led to a near fall for Eddie. Strong stopped the backpack chin breaker, but not the flying knee. Enzuguri out of the counter by Strong, followed by a backbreaker. Strong put Eddie in the Stronghold when he couldn’t get the win. Hero tried to save Eddie, but ended up getting caught in KENTA’s octopus stretch. Eddie turned the hold into a roll up. Strong kicked out, executing the gut-buster. Strong tried to hit the ropes for some momentum, but Eddie was ready, propelling Strong into the Alarm Clock. Hero Rolling Elbowed Strong as Davey super kicked him into Eddie’s German suplex into a jackknife pin. Danielson and KENTA jumped in at the last second. KENTA stopped the Doomsday kick from the champs on Strong. Danielson, Strong and KENTA caught their opponents on the top turnbuckles. Superplex by Strong on Hero. Belly to back superplex on Eddie by Danielson. Super falcon arrow…I think you can guess. All six men were laid out across the area. Danielson dove on Hero as KENTA did the same to Davey. Strong and Eddie is a clobberin’, Tony, until Eddie rolled Strong into a kick to the chest. Roderick avoided the caperana, using a running big boot after the enzuguri for a shocking near fall. Gibson Driver crushes Eddie to give Strong the win for his team.
