3/15/10:Last week, Jim Cornette announced that at Ring of Honor’s next pay-per-view- The Big Bang-it’ll be Tyler Black defending the ROH World title against Roderick Strong and Austin Aries. Tempers exploded between the three future opponents, leading to Strong decking the champ.
ROH TV title tournament 1st Round match: Eddie Edwards w/Shane Hagadorn vs. Colt Cabana
Cabana frustrated Eddie early, almost pinning him off an Irish whip rebound. Eddie turned up the pace, shoulder blocking Cabana off his feet before kicking Cabana’s head. Steve Corino watched from the aisle as Cabana punched his way to a dominant position. Colt’s attention moved to Corino after a head scissors. Eddie tried to take advantage of the distraction, but Cabana was ready, sunset flipping Eddie for a two count. Cabana tried to follow up, only to run into a dragon screw leg whip. Edwards honed in on Cabana’s hurt left leg. Cabana was able to use his right leg to fight back, tying Eddie up in a modified abdominal stretch. Eddie got out of the submission predicament, avoiding the Colt 45 when they got to their feet. Colt caught Eddie’s incoming kick, but also caught an enzuguri to the back of his head. With Cabana stumbling, Eddie jumped off the middle rope, double stomping Cabana’s back.
Cabana freed himself from the camel clutch, but ended up running into a forearm before being double stomped across the back again. Colt tried to fight through the pain, but Eddie didn’t allow him to get anything going. Cabana bounced off the ropes after throwing a series of palm thrusts, clotheslining Eddie off his feet. Colt unleashed his bionic elbows before hitting the ropes for some momentum. Eddie tried to stop it so he could propel off the ropes. Instead, Eddie ran into a butt-butt, allowing Colt to get a two count. Flying @$$hole! Cabana lost his focus of Eddie by chasing Corino in and out of the ring. This allowed Eddie to trip the running Cabana, locking him in the single leg Boston crab. Colt had no choice but to tap out.
At Final Battle 2009, the Kings of Wrestling attacked The Briscoes. The two teams will meet at The Big Bang with the belts on the line. Kyle Durden was with the Tag Team champions of the world, The Briscoes. Mark-and his false teeth-proclaimed that the challengers are coming to the south. Jay informed their challengers and us that the further south you go, the better it is to kick some ass. I can attest to that. After an expletive laden tirade, The Briscoes proclaimed that they are going to beat Hero and Claudio.
Roderick Strong cut a promo on The Big Bang main event, and how it is his time to finally become the man he always saw himself of being. Strong felt Black lied to him by not giving him the title shot he promised. Roderick is going to take the ROH World title in Charlotte.
Jim Cornette was in the ring to hype ROH’s newest acquisition, the man banned from network television, Shawn Daivari. Cornette wanted to know the goals of Daivari. Shawn tossed his entrance attire, saying that he’s done with wearing the shackles of a hick promotion. Daivari declared himself a pro-wrestler, not some terrorist. Shawn wanted everyone to know that he’s just as American as anyone. Daivari declared that he gained his wealth through hard work, unlike the people in Philly. The USA chants flooded Shawn’s ears as Jim Cornette brought up the fact that Daivari brings the racism on himself by attacking the fans like that while remarking over his physical features. Daivari shot that down before taking his leave.
Lets hear from another man involved in The Big Bang main event: Austin Aries. Aries wanted us to understand that he’s mentally stronger than his opponents. Aries brought up the fact that no one in that match likes each other, which will produce a fight like never before. In the end-according to Aries-Austin Aries will become a three-time ROH World champ.
Kyle O’Riely vs. Tony Kozina
No entrances for either man, which doesn’t bold well for them. I wonder if I’m right. An indy-rific opening with neither man getting an advantage. Series of butterfly suplexes by Kyle, ending with a double underhook face buster. Kozina fought back, draping Kyle across the top rope stomach first before dropkicking him in the back. With Kyle stuck against the ropes, Kozina jumped off the top, using a hurricarana to send Kyle over the top to the floor. The fans were on their feet after the impressive move. Kyle kicked out of Kozina’s pin off the cross body block. Kyle used an impressive array of strikes to turn the tides back in his favor. Kozina recovered, springing off the middle rope for something. Kyle was ready, dropkicking Tony out of the sky. Both men were going forearm for forearm until Kyle kicked Kozina in the face. Tony fell over the top rope, landing on the apron. Kozina around over the ropes, off the middle turnbuckle before bulldogging Kyle. Kyle rebounded, using a series of attacks that ended with a tornado DDT. Kyle wanted to hoist Kozina off the mat. Tony countered with a small package. Kyle kicked enough to put Kozina on his back in the small package, picking up his first win on HDNet.
The ROH World champion Tyler Black is the next to speak on his first PPV title defense. Black felt that Strong has lost his mind about this title shot, which makes Roderick more dangerous than Aries in the champ’s opinion. Black-like Aries and Strong-reflected on the historic nature of him winning on April 3rd.
ROH TV title tournament 1st Round match: Davey Richards w/Shane Hagadorn vs. Delirious w/Daizee Haze

Davey turned a cradle attempt by Delirious against him by shoulder locking Delirious. Delirious used his right boot to make it to the ropes. Davey stayed on top of that weak appendage. Delirious punched his way out of the arm lock, only to run into a spinning back kick. Davey followed up with a missile dropkick to the back of Delirious’ head before he could get off the mat. Davey took too much time posing before going for the cover. Davey kicked the flailing Delirious to put him in the corner of the ring so he could continue working over Delirious’ left arm. Davey kicked Delirious out of the sky with a modified Alarm Clock. A barrage of attacks, ending with a back drop driver from Davey turned Delirious into a human accordion. Delirious showed some incredible heart to save himself. Richards used a wicked buzzsaw kick. Delirious somehow had the wherewithal to kick out before the three count. When Delirious kicked out, Davey spun around, cross arm barring Delirious. Delirious used his legs to push up, turning the submission predicament on Davey with the Cobra Stretch. Davey got to his feet, only to be suplexed on his head.
Davey broke free of the Cobra stretch again, sending Delirious shoulder first into the steel ring post when he sidestepped the masked man’s attack. Another missile dropkick from Davey aimed for Delirious’ left shoulder. Davey hooked Delirious, tombstone piledriving him. Shocking near fall for Davey. Richards wasn’t done, locking in the Kimura. Once again, Delirious pushed off the mat, pinning Richards against the canvas. Davey kicked out before the three count, returning to the cross arm bar.
