Good evening ladies and gentlemen and welcome to another edition of the WWE Superstars SuperReview RIGHT HERE on WorldWrestlingInsanity.com (I always wanted to “cheap pop” like Mick Foley). I'm writing this as I prepare to go out and play some percussion at a ceilidh right here in Scotland, which should be fun. Looking forward to a couple of beers too, some unwinding is always welcome. With my Facebook-like life updates out of the way, on with the show!

Battle #1 – Kelly Kelly & Eve Torres vs. Alicia Fox & Katie Lea Burchill

Great to see Katie Lea getting some airtime on Superstars this week. I dunno if it's because she's from the same part of the world as me or something but I've always been pretty fond of her work. Perhaps it's down to the fact that I've followed her career for a number of years, even during her stint as “Nikita” in the Frontier Wrestling Alliance over here. She'll probably never cut a break in WWE, which is likely down to the fact that they have some incredibly talented women working for them, but so long as she's employed by the biggest pro wrestling company there is she can't really complain I guess!

Pretty cool action here which was unfortunately put into the background as Michael Cole and “The King” bantered back and forth regarding a possible sexual fetish of Cole's – the Goth sub-culture. I'm trying to eat over here! The last thing I need to wash down pasta with is a Michael freakin' Cole flirting with the fact that he may well look up Goth on the internet. Thankfully, the match managed to survive this show-stopping moment and actually drew the audience into what was going on. I've said it before but Kelly Kelly and all the other Diva's who were not initially wrestlers have really stepped it up a notch and come into their own. I'd go as far to say that WWE has a better women's division than TNA at this point, which is something which surprises even me!

In the end, Alicia rolled through on a Kelly flying cross body from the top rope and hooked the leg for the 1..2..3!

WINNERS: Alicia Fox & Katie Lea Burchill

Battle #2 – Evan Bourne vs. Carlito

Wow. That's all I can really think to say about this one. Completely caught me by surprise just how good this bout was, with both men going back and forth searching for the victory. I really cared about almost every pinfall attempt, which is even rare for some of the bigger matches on the card! Evan Bourne is always lively but Carlito was right there with him, looking motivated and up for putting on a fantastic showing. I'm still of the thought that the creative team should stick the brothers Colon back together and run with them as a babyface tag team but this was just awesome fun to watch. Possibly the most fun I've had watching Carlito since he entered the WWE.

Seriously, anybody who reads this report without really watching the show needs to give this one a look-in. This is the kind of match which gets me excited about pro wrestling and had an air of ROH or even CHIKARA about its style. It really did seem like Vince McMahon just told both these guys to go out there and tear it up, having the best match they possibly can. Well they succeeded! Something tells me I'll be viewing this one again!

Evan Bourne eventually grabbed himself a victory by completely obliterating Carlito with his impressive “Airbourne” Shooting Star Press, after having teased it more than once earlier on in the bout. Please please please WWE, put Carlito back with Primo and build a tag division around them. And create a division to rival TNA's X-Division (during its classic years), with Bourne as the leader. That would be some brilliant stuff.

WINNER: Evan Bourne

In Other News..

·          Ace video package detailing the comeback of the “Rated R Superstar” Edge and his Royal Rumble win this past Sunday. I think most of us knew that if he was gonna come back at that event, he would have his hand raised at the end of it – which is more than fine with me! Having watched the guy perform and evolve since his debut in 1998 at the “Enigma”, I'm personally thrilled to see him not only recover from a serious injury but come back looking even stronger than before. Now, hopefully there will be some unfinished business getting taken care of before a title shot at Wrestlemania, with none other than Chris Jericho. I'd love to see Jericho challenge Edge but ask for his title shot to be on the line at “Elimination Chamber”. Please bear in mind that this may have already happened! I haven't been able to see Monday Night RAW from this week as of yet, due to work commitments. So we could already be going down that road!

·          RAW Rebound package which shows us, in typically awesome WWE video form, what transpired at the RAW which I haven't quite seen yet. I'm looking forward to seeing the Bret Hart/Vince McMahon confrontation in full as the heat seemed to be tremendous, not only with the fans but I think both guys were also feeling it too. Being a big Hart fan, I now want to see McMahon get his ass kicked. I'm such a “mark”. And I love it.

Battle #3 – Your Main Event & Mine

John Morrison, Matt Hardy & The Great Khali vs. Drew McIntyre & The Hart Dynasty

Yet another great, fast-paced match here, which I never thought I'd be saying about a bout featuring The Great Khali! The big dude can be really useful in situations such as the one put forth tonight, with his believable power making the difference.

The crowd in attendance were never really given a chance to catch their breath as this one was action packed bell-to-bell. My fellow countryman McIntyre continues to impress and improve upon the strong start he's made to his WWE career as a part of the main roster. Fingers crossed we'll be seeing a lot more from him in the future too. Infact, the same can be said for most of the guys in this match!

Khali whacked David Hart Smith with a suitably meaty “Punjabi Plunge/Khali Bomb”, gaining the win for his team.

WINNERS: John Morrison, Matt Hardy & The Great Khali

Tonight's episode of WWE Superstars may well take the biscuit as being the best show since I began reporting on it. All 3 of the matches were highly enjoyable and given time to get over. Who says this hour is just filler!? Thanks for reading folks. Feel free to check out this weeks edition of the “Jamie Kennedy Experiment” which features the latest news on TNA newest money-making scheme and also WWE's latest attempt to create new stars. It should be up presently! Have a great weekend!
