When you read this weeks edition of the “Jamie Kennedy Experiment”, you'll either think of me as somebody who doesn't have a problem airing their own opinions or you may now perceive me as Lucifer himself. Hey, did you know Lucifer actually means “light-bearer”? Whodda thunk it Cole!?

A big, BIG thank you to the one and only Crazy Uncle Ralph for his excellent rantings while I was away last week too. Also have to show gratitude for his sticking up for me when YOU, the readers, made me cry like the little Scottish bitch that I am. If I had a spine, I'd stop this report right here and right now. However I won't because you'll all tougher than me and besides, James will charter a private jet with his millions and boot me square in the lovespuds. With that rather odd opening, on with the show!

Battle #1 – Your Opening Contest Is Set For One Fall – Kofi Kingston vs. Chavo Guerrero

Running at over 6 minutes, this one could possibly be considered the perfect “squash” encounter. There was likely little doubt in anyone's minds who would walk away with their arm raised following this one but I like that the promotion allowed Mr. Guerrero to at least look competitive here. Remember what I've said before about him having an important role in the company? Well this is it. Sure, he'll never be a contender for the top titles but when booked as a threat like he was here to a budding superstar (Kingston), he is more than useful. I've always been a big fan of the guys work and he truly does play the cocky heel role well. If only there was another Cruiserweight division to for him to dominate, he'd surely be in his element.

Kingston is still on the cusp of being a major player and whereas all the buzz from his feud with Randy Orton is now almost forgotten, he is still my personal pick to win “Money In The Bank”, should he be a part of the bout. All I can really say is that the dude has the in-ring ability, now just give him more mic time. Remember that promo he cut on Legacy from atop Orton's shiny new car? He proved there and then that he had it in him to be a genuine main event star.

This match was therefore pretty damn interesting and even went back and forth a little bit in some sections. Never in doubt however, was that Kofi would wallop Chavo with his “Trouble In Paradise” finishing move for the 1...the 2....the 3!

WINNER: Kofi Kingston

Battle #2 – William Regal vs. Evan Bourne

Much like the last battle (and believe me, it was a battle), the conclusion of this next match is not really in doubt. Judging by the fact that Mr. Regal doesn't get a full entrance, we can pretty much guess who is going over here.

That fact did not really stop these guys from putting on some exciting action however and this is really where 'Willie' is at his best these days – helping the younger performers on their way up the ladder. This writer doesn't have a problem with that at all and I'm very sure Regal does not either. Much like Chavo, he still has a lot going for him and clearly enjoys his work.

WWE seem to have re-ignited their desires to push Bourne skywards again after tailing off for a large portion of 2009. I can't really be sure he'll ever truly make it in the land of the giants but the tenacious grappler will no doubt try his best to prove everyone who believes that statement wrong. On wrestling skill alone, he's one of the most talented men on the roster and definitely one of the most exciting to watch. I just do get this niggling feeling that his small stature will always hold him back a little bit (no pun intended there!).

Always spectacular “Air Bourne” was the death knell for this one as Evan smashed Regal with his impressive Shooting Star Press from the top rope for the victory. The little pillock. How dare you sunshine.

Battle #3 – Mike Knox vs. Kane

I can recall a time when WWE were pretty high on Mike Knox and this match would have played out in exactly the opposite direction as it did here. This was nothing more than filler, and only 3 minutes of it at that! Personally, I find it hard to get interested in matches when they are this duration and don't really feel it helps any of the wrestlers involved.

Kane is again in the “Money In The Bank” ladder match at Wrestlemania and whereas I am a big supporter of the humongous warrior, logic would dictate that he won't have his hand raised on that particular night. This bout just seemed to be an easy way to make him look dominating again before that supershow and perhaps get some fans interested in an unpredictable outcome. The winner of the match is far from obvious, but it's a long shot that it'll be Kane.

“Chokeslam” was the ending for this one. Knox always seems to take that move tremendously well and it was no different of this occasion.

In Other News...

·          Video package for the seemingly re-born CM Punk and his “Straight Edge Society”. I say re-born because Punk has secured a spot as one of the most important members of the Smackdown locker room, whereas beforehand it was looking like he may not last as a top-line competitor in WWE. Kudos to the guy. His straight edge heel gimmick has an un-nerving touch of realism to it.

·          RAW Rebound shows us what went down on Monday Night. I happened to think that RAW episode was one of the best thus far this year. No coincidence that it's happening right as we edge ever closer to Wrestlemania. So many big angles to squeeze into 2 hours but the company are doing an admirable job of giving each storyline ample breathing room.

Battle #4 – Your Main Event & Mine – Chris Jericho vs. Goldust

Fantastic to see a star the calibre of Jericho on this show and it was also a mini “markout” moment for me to see him facing off against one of my favourite characters from the Attitude era.

Goldust is used more as light relief in modern-day WWE but when called upon to have a tough match, Mr. Rhodes can certainly go toe to toe with the best of them. He is yet another one of those guys in the league of a Chavo Guerrero or a William Regal – never realistically going to be winning championships anytime soon but he's dependable as hell and was on his game for this one. The “Golden One” is also pretty over with the WWE audiences, especially those actually inside the arena and has always had a knack for ring psychology.

Logically however, it was “Y2J” who got the duke on this night. A rare submission win via utilisation of the “Walls Of Jericho” hold proved to be the difference maker. Now onto 'Mania for Jericho where he'll battle a returning babyface Edge. Did you know these men have never fought one-on-one at a Pay-Per-View event ever!? That was news to me until I noticed it this afternoon!
