WWE SuperStars SuperReview: Chris Masters Santino, Christian Plunders The Pirate, and Dolph Zig-Zags Finlay
Here we are again for more WWE Superstars action! Haters of Matt Striker beware, look out for some unashamed love for the big guy. Breaking Point last Sunday was a nice little 'B' level Pay-Per-View which saw The Miz and Kofi Kingston deliver an old school WWE mid-card bout and also the complete return of The Undertaker, who was screwed out of the World Heavyweight Championship by “Mr. Probation” Teddy Long and CM Punk. I really enjoyed the I Quit Match between John Cena and Randy Orton. Most people likely poo poo'd all over it but hey, it had the desired effect of making Orton look sinister and having Cena look like Iron Man.
WOAH! It's everybody's favourite 'Cantalian' Santino Marrrrrrrrrrrrrella! Always a pleasure to see this legitimately funny and talented guy on WWE TV. The crowd pop big for him too, this is clearly because he is all kinds of awesome and they all know this match is instantly now 100% more fun. The match was good too. Consistent, funny and rather damn good – the Santino is a credit to the man himself and WWE. In the end, Marella's 'Hulking Up' was no match for the “Masterlock” which ended the match by submission. WINNER: “The Masterpiece” Chris Masters
· Nice video package for CM Punk who is still the 'choice of a new generation'. I thought that was Kevin Nash!? Nyerk nyerk.
Hey it's Matt, Josh and..Zack Ryder! The new #1 contender to the ECW Title is here to do some colour commentary on tonight's match. A little scouting if you will. This should be a nice one if it's given at least 5 minutes! GREAT match here. Bonus points because Burchill was allowed to look very competitive. This is the essence of ECW over the past year or so, matches like this which only help to get the wrestlers involved over. Ryder was also hilarious on announcing and it's good to see him getting a little elevation towards a title. So long as his eventual shot at the belt is on PPV! WINNER: Christian In Other News...
Dolph is always impressive and Finlay is always reliable (although he really needs to lose the crappy music..) so this one should be a decent end to the show. In saying this, Zigglers big PPV contribution at Breaking Point was making lame jokes at Pat Patterson's expense. So we got that eating up time instead of a potential show stealer in Ziggler vs. John Morrison? According to J.R however, we get this bout at the next Pay-Per-View offering Hell in a Cell. Great brawling aspect to this one as both men hit hard and hit often, landing believable blows and really having an intense matchup. It went back and forth until 'Mr. Ziggles' eventually managed to hit his “ZigZag” finishing move for the 1...2...3! I have to say, I love that taunt the guy does with his hair. Superb old-school heel stuff! WINNER: Dolph Ziggler
