Hey, everybody. Welcome back to another C-Show Showdown. Last week, WWE Superstars was very entertaining. It took the title over TNA Xplosion and Tyler Reks was named MVP for the week with his win over Chris Masters. Now...the rematch between
WWE Superstars and
TNA Xplosion. What show will win this week? Who will be the MVP? Put on your Davey Crockett racoon hat and let's find out.
WWE Superstars:
Match 1: The All-American American Jack Swagger w/ The Soaring Eagle vs Kaval
The show is off to a great start with this match. Swagger is a former World Heavyweight champion and Kaval is quick and exciting to watch. I wish they would do more with Kaval. He has yet to win a match in the WWE and yet he was supposed to be the next breakout star from NXT season 2. I don't have a problem with how they are using Swagger at the moment. He wasn't ready for the World Heavyweight title when they gave it to him. Wow! This is an unbelievable match. I know I always say that I watch this so you don't have to, but this match is worth watching. Look it up on youtube...seriously...do it! The end of the match comes when The Soaring Eagle knocks Kaval down on the outside part of the canvas while the referee isn't looking. Jack Swagger then locks in the Ankle Lock for the submission victory. Kaval is a star in the ring. Absolutely phenomenal.
Match 2: Luke Gallows vs Vance Archer
This is not a bad match for Superstars either. I like what this show has put out there over the last couple of weeks. Both of these guys need an identity. Maybe wrestling on Superstars for a while can help push them in the right direction and allow them to find that identity. I think Archer is closer than Gallows is at this point. He is aggressive. Gallows gets the win in a pretty quick match with the Gallow's Pole. He needs the win more than Archer does in my opinion. Ever since splitting away from CM Punk, Gallows has been MIA and this win is a good sign for him.
Match 3: Alicia Fox vs Gail Kim
I don't like Diva wrestling except for when Beth Phoenix is involved, so this match doesn't do it for me. Gail Kim is pretty good in the ring, but Alicia Fox sucks. Wasn't she Edge and Vickie Guerrero's wedding planner? Anyways...Gail Kim gets the win with the Eat Defeat.
Match 4: Mark Henry vs The Uso's w/Tamina (Handicap Match)
Big Mark beat Jey Uso last week on Superstars, so I guess this makes sense. It at least gives him and the Uso's some TV time. I'm not a huge fan of the Uso's and with the way the Tag Team division is going right now, it's just a matter of time until they get split up anyway. However, Jey Uso is good. I have yet to see much of anything special from Jimmy. Big Mark is lost right now on RAW. He seems to get a nice push and then vanishes from TV altogether. He then comes back and gets paired up in a tag team. His tag partners then move on to something else or get hurt, and then he gets thrown onto Superstars or is used to dominate someone in a gauntlet match. At least he still has a job. The Uso's get the win after Tamina kicks Henry in the face and then one of the Uso brothers kicked him again. The other Uso brother hit the Superfly Splash for the victory.
TNA Xplosion:
Match 1: Magnus vs Orlando Jordan
Eric Young comes out with Jordan to do commentary for this match. This is a continuance of last week...sort of. Last week, EY beat Magnus only to have Magnus attack him during the celebration. Orlando Jordan came down to help his tag team buddy. Thus, we have this week's match. I don't care for either of these two guys, so let's just get to the results shall we. Orlando Jordan gets the win with the Million Dollar Dream.
Mickie James 'Hardcore Country' music video....
terrible.
Spin Cycle segment with Douglass Williams, Mickie James, Brian Kendrick, and Rob Van Dam. What are they "Hardcore" about? Again...terrible.
Match 2: Kazarian vs "The War Machine" Rhino
This match makes sense going into Turning Point with EV2 taking on Fortune. Kazarian is very exciting to watch. He's one of my favorite TNA wrestlers right now. Rhino doesn't really do much for me, but he does for alot of people, so more power to him. Kazarian gets the win after he leaps over Rhino's Gore for the Sunset Flip pinfall.
Verdict:
Superstars gets the win again this week in the C-Show Showdown. They provided more substance and more matches people would actually want to see than
Xplosion did.
Showdown MVP:

I know he lost, but I don't care.
Kaval is this week's MVP. He was spectacular in defeat and hopefully we get to see more and more of this guy on TV.
That's it for this week. I'll be back with another C-Show Showdown at a later date. Take care and see you then.
