Hey, party people. I hope you are doing well. I apologize that I was absent last week. I was traveling, so that means you get a double dose of the C-Show Showdown this week. It's two rounds of
WWE Superstars vs TNA Xplosion. Like T.O. says, "You better get your popcorn ready." Go ahead...get it ready. Butter it up, put salt, cheese, caramel, chocolate, or whatever flavoring you want on it. Let's get this thing rolling downhill.
11/11/10
Match 1: Long Island Iced Z Zack Ryder vs Yoshi Tatsu
Holy Crap! It's a Yoshi Tatsu sighting! I'm zacked up for this matchup. I'm a fan of Ryder and really want this guy to get some exposure and a little bit of a push. Woo Woo Woo! You know it. Yoshi is ok, but I think alot of people have totally forgotten about him. I understand why WWE feels the need to have a Japanese character, but they need to show him on TV more. Otherwise, he is almost useless. I guess he has a place at the house shows, but that doesn't do much. Maybe he obtained a little momentum in this match, however. Yoshi Tatsu gets the win with a running kick to the head after Ryder missed the Rough Ryder.
Match 2: Ezekiel Jackson vs Primo w/ AJ
Big Zeke is MASSIVE!!! Dude is scary big. I smell a future world champion...and it's not Primo. He's lucky to have a job at this point. Not much to this match. Zeke is totally dominant. He wins with his Rock Bottom like finisher. This guy needs to be in the main event scene on RAW soon!
Match 3: Kaval vs Drew McIntyre
McIntyre has one of the best entrances in the WWE. Somewhere, Aaron Wood is having a wet dream. This is an absolutely awesome matchup. Kaval is terrific and McIntyre has improved immensely. Do yourself a favor and watch this match. Disclaimer: This match is property of World Wrestling Entertainment.
I want more Kaval! He is amazing in the ring. Win or lose, this guy is exciting. McIntyre gets the win after he dodges the Warrior's Way and parlays it into the Future Shock DDT.
11/10/10
Match 1: Jeremy Buck vs Jesse Neal
Eric Young is doing commentary with Taz. Pre-match, Jeremy Buck talks about not caring about the people of this country...he only cares about himself. Jesse Neal took that personally and started the match off hot. I'm not a fan of Neal. I don't think he is any good. Buck has talent, but he looks like a 12 year old girl version of a young Jeff Hardy. Thus, this match does nothing for me. At the end of the match, Buck exited the ring and started walking to the back. Neal caught up to him and tossed him back in the ring. As Neal was getting back in, Buck rolled him up and grabbed his trunks for the cheap 3 count.
Match 2: Max Buck vs Shannon Moore
This is a good matchup. I like Shannon Moore and I can tolerate Max Buck. He at least doesn't look like a 12 year old girl. He just looks like a 12 year old Matt Hardy. I guess that's why Shannon Moore can handle himself well in matches against Generation Me. It reminds him of a much simpler time. Shannon Moore gets the win with the Mooregasm. That puts the tag teams at an even 1-1 in singles competition for this week.
11/18/10
Match 1: JTG vs Chavo Guerrero
I can handle this one. JTG needs to be re-established and Chavo needs to be on TV in some capacity other than as Jack Swagger's mascot. With the most recent releases, it is a wonder that JTG wasn't one of them. There might still be more to come, however, so he isn't out of the woods yet. In case you haven't seen, the releases were: Vance Archer, Shad Gaspard, Tiffany, Jillian, Caylen Croft, and Luke Gallows. Back to the match. This is a pretty decent match. Chavo gets the win with the Frog Splash. I guess we will see over the upcoming weeks if JTG can keep his job or not.
Match 2: Curt Hawkins vs Trent Barreta
Since Caylen Croft is no longer a Dudebuster, I think Curt Hawkins would be a great tag team partner for Barreta. I hated the Dudebusters when Croft was a part of the team, but now that he is gone, I might be able to tolerate Barreta by himself or with another partner (i.e. Curt Hawkins). Barreta gets the win with a Springboard DDT. Good match!
CM Punk comes out for guest commentary for the "RAW" Superstars matches
Match 3: Yoshi Tatsu vs Primo w/ AJ
Punk is absolute GOLD on commentary. They have to figure out a way to keep him on TV and allow him to talk somehow. I guess this is how they are going to do it. He keeps calling Scott Stanford by the wrong names. He calls him Steve and Jeff from what I've caught so far. Pretty funny how he makes fun of him. This match is not about Yoshi and Primo. It's about listening to Punk. Yoshi does get the win with a Spinning Heel Kick from the top rope. It's his second straight win on Superstars. Good for him. I hope Primo is on the chopping block.
Match 4: Melina and Gail Kim vs Maryse and Alicia Fox
Again this match is not about the wrestlers in the ring...and thank God for that! It's still about CM Punk who continues to provide entertainment on commentary. At least they are hiding the fact that they have a Diva's tag team match as the main event. Melina gets the win for her team with a roll up on Maryse.
11/17/10
Match 1: Magnus vs Jesse Neal
I don't like either of these guys. Where is Eric Young when you need him??? Pre-match, Magnus calls Jesse Neal mentally unstable and calls the women in the audience ugly. Jesse Neal then attacks him as he is laying in to one woman. Magnus wins with the Mag Daddy Driver after a low blow that was blind to the referee.
Match 2: Velvet Sky vs Tara
Mmmmmmmmm! Velvet Sky is yummy! The best entrance in professional wrestling EVER!!!!!!! Not only is she extremely hot, but she has gotten alot better in the ring. Pair her with Tara who is good in her own right, and this is a decent matchup. Much better than anything WWE could put together in their Diva's division at the moment. Tara gets the win with the Widow's Peak.
Verdict:
This week, the winner of the C-Show Showdown is
WWE Superstars. They had a terrific match with Kaval and Drew McIntyre, they showcased the domination of Ezekiel Jackson, and they finally put Yoshi Tatsu back on TV...TWICE!
Showdown MVP:
While fighting off my love for Velvet Sky and my desire to see every match Kaval has ever had, the MVP this week goes to
Ezekiel Jackson. He is so powerful and dominant. Hopefully we will soon see him in the main event scene on RAW.
That's it for this week. Join me again next time for another C-Show Showdown!
