WWE SuperStars SuperReview: The Hurricane Returns To Do What He Does Best, Dolph Dominates, and Swagger Takes On Primo
By Jamie Kennedy
Welcome everybody to this weeks edition of the WWE Superstars report! Can this show continue to deliver solid in-ring action like it has over the past few months or will we , SHOCK! HORROR!, be starved of any entertainment value? Only one way to find out..
Battle #1
–
Jack Swagger vs. Primo
This was a match which was pretty much dominated by “The All-American American” and it looks to me like Primo is stuck in 'jobber-to-the-stars' hell. I've heard a lot of people saying it and I'm going to have to tend to agree, why on earth were The Brothers Colon split up? They've went from being an over and fun tag-team to being 2 very meaningless singles wrestlers who simply eat up time on any given show. Swagger on the other hand, I see big things for this guy and if WWE continue to be as patient with him as they always have been this writer sees no reason why he cannot become a major player in the company. Not a bad match here at all but it was a forgone conclusion who was going over! Mr. Swagger won this one with a sweet Gutwrench Powerbomb before grabbing the house mic and effectively stating his intentions towards gaining the U.S Title from Kofi Kingston. Thank hell for that! Kingston really does need a challenger to give him something to focus on. Give it some time Vince and the fans will get behind both these men! To be honest, I would rather see Swagger get this spot than The Miz or Carlito. Winner: Jack Swagger
Meanwhile in a Land Far Far Away.. ..someone cares about this “Ask the WWE Divas?” stuff? I doubt it. Sure it gives the gals TV time but wouldn't they be better served getting that scene-time in the ring or in meaningful angles which further their characters? Hearing Beth Phoenix say she would 'like to go to the mall on a date' because she 'loves being showered with gifts' does nothing but make her look like a complete tool. This woman is a competent professional wrestler who is very good at connecting with the audience, she has proved this time and time again with some of the better women's matches we've seen on WWE television and Pay-Per-View in the past few years. I hope there are people out there who find these segments entertaining as I'd hate to think they'd have a completely negative impact on the careers of some of these awesomely-talented ladies.
Battle #2 – The Hurricane vs. Paul Burchill w/Katie Lea Burchill Please please please let this one go for longer than a couple of minutes! I long for the days when we get to see what Burchill can really do inside that ring. Having seen videos of him performing in the earlier days of his career, he is one hell of a worker when motivated. Also, it's always nice to see Katie Lea Burchill on WWE TV! Could have been better if it had been given more time but I suppose this is a 1-hour show and the company have to think about giving everybody else a fair time too! I cannot help feeling that these 2 could have a fantastic match if they were given even 15 minutes. Still, good action which flowed nicely. Burchill got one for his 'W' column with a schoolboy roll-up for the 1..2..3! Oh and another thing, just as an aside to Hurricane Helms. I hear a lot of talk about how 'stupid' he is for splitting up with Velvet Skye and vice versa from a lot of the girls. People really need to lay off the future Mrs. Kennedy, they really do. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry..
Winner: Paul Burchill
In Other News.. It really is good to see The Undertaker back in action again. I have to say, I'm mega-pumped about the possibility of seeing a feud between himself and a heel CM Punk. It can only be good, unless they make Punk look like a total pussy

which is possible.
Your Main Event & Mine.. Dolph Ziggler vs. Mike Knox vs. Finlay This triple threat match is to determine the #1 Contender for the WWE Intercontinental Title and no doubt a crack at champ Rey Mysterio for either a Smackdown title bout or at the next PPV “Breaking Point”. Really rather good TV fare here and I was impressed with all 3 men. I made a comment whilst watching Summerslam with a friend that Ziggler's hair reminds me of Mr. Perfect from the early-90's WWF. To be frank, this only makes me like him more. Dolph nabbed the victory here by “stealing one” (thanks Cole!) from Finlay after the 'fighting Irishman' (thanks J.R!) had blasted Mike Knox with the Celtic Cross. Ziggler rammed Finlay right into the ringpost and covered Knox for the pin! Winner: Dolph Ziggler You guessed it! Another good week from this show and it continues to impress. Roll on next week and have a fantastic weekend everybody!
