Genesis Real Time Report Part 2 Electric Boogaloo

By Mike Rickard II
Nov 19, 2006, 21:13

...

Mike Rickard taking over so Dawgs can get his drink on and enjoy the rest of the show.

4) Christian Cage vs. "Phenomenal" AJ Styles-AJ Styles starts out strong.  Christian can't seem to catch a break.  Christian and AJ Styles take things out of the ring where Cage starts working on Styles leg.  He gains some momentum by slamming Styles into the ring barrier.  Cage starts dropping the dogs on Styles then goes to work with the chinlock. Styles tries to mount a comeback but Cage catches him with a clothesline.  Not enough to get the pinfall.   Cage fights off comeback after comeback by Styles and returns to the chinlock.

Things start to turn around as Styles lands a hurricarana on Christian as both men fight to launch a move from the top rope.   Cage is still strong though and both men exchange chops.  Devastating dropkick by Styles.  Styles launches an offensive flurry causing Cage to beg for mercy.  Styles isn't buying it though and hits another move off the top rope, getting a very, very near fall on CC.

The near falls continue as Cage lands the spear.  Styles lands the Pele; another near fall.  Cage catches Styles off the top rope and plants him but he can't pin him.  Cage reaches for a chair.  Christopher Daniels comes in to stop the chair from coming into play but his interference backfires, allowing Cage to steal the pinfall.

WINNER: Christian Cage

After the match, Styles and Daniels argue leading Sonjay Dutt and Jay Lethal to try and smooth things out.  Rhino charges the ring and he's on the stick, warning Daniels and Styles that the same thing happened to him and Christian leading to months of blood spilled.  He's not going to let the same thing happen to Styles and Daniels so he tells the two to shake hands and make up.  Unfortunately A.J. Styles isn't having it and he calls Rhino Dr. Phil, saying "I'll call a psychiatrist when I need one"

Backstage, Jeremy Borash is interviewing America's Most Wanted (AMW).  They may not always have been America's favorite but they'll always be America's Most Wanted.  James Storm tells the Latin American Exchange (LAX) that the 1st Amendment may protect them from the U.S. Government but it won't protect them from AMW.

Video recap of the events leading up to tonight's title match between LAX and the challengers AMW.

5.  NWA World Tag Team Championship Match: AMW ("Cowboy" James Storm & "Wildcat" Chris Harris) w. Gail Kim vs. LAX (Homicide & Hernandez) w. Konnan (Champions)

Konnan is on the stick.  He warns Jim Cornette of the legal ramifications if he tries to stop the LAX from burning the American flag.  AMW wastes no time in going after LAX and the action spills out of the ring.  Wild brawl ensues. AMW sends a message by tossing Homicide out of the ring and on top of Hernandez.

LAX regroup though and they isolate Chris Harris from Storm, dishing out the punishment to the Wildcat.  Harris lands a spinebuster on Homicide but the move seems to exhaust his last bit of enery.  Harris manages to make the hot tag though and Storm comes in, the proverbial house afire.

Storm goes for the death sentence but Hernandez breaks things up.   Homicide goes for the pin but can't seal the deal.  A series of near falls take place by both teams.  Hernandez slams Harris into the steel post as LAX go after Storm.

AMW hits the Death Sentence on Hernandez but the referee is being distracted by Konnan.  During the confusion, Homicide blasts James Storm in the head with the blow torch.  Hernandez gets an easy pin.

WINNERS: LAX by pinfall.

LAX isn't finished though.  With Storm out of commission, LAX go to take out Gail Kim.  Just when it looks like Kim is going back to the hospital, Petey Williams makes the save.  As the LAX bail out of the ring, TNA's authority figure Jim Cornette hits the ring.

Jim Cornette says "This gringo white boy has something to say to you".  He accuses the LAX of having the worst taste in wrestling.  He's not sure if the LAX is really behind or it's a publicity stunt.  TNA management isn't happy that LAX wants to burn the flag.  More importantly, the fans don't like it or the veterans who put their lives on the line.   As a result, TNA is going to strip the LAX of the tag team championship.  LAX has until this Thursday night on Impact to hand the belts back or their contracts will be terminated.

James Mitchell is backstage with Abyss (wielding a baseball bat).  He asks Sting why he's so afraid of the dark.  Mitchell reminds Sting that he had his most success when he embraced the darkness.  He warns Sting that Abyss is going to force him to open the dark corner of his mind.

Video recap of Sting's recent NWA World Championship title win over Jeff Jarrett and Sting's mission to restore honor to the championship.

6.  NWA World Heavyweight Championship Match  Abyss (w. James Mitchell) vs. Sting (Champion)- Sting takes the offensive, going after Abyss.  The Stinger isn't holding back as he blasts Abyss with the baseball bat and knocks him out of the ring.    Sting follows him out of the ring and lays into Abyss.  The two soon find themselves fighting amonst the fans.

Abyss is far from through though and he blasts Sting with a steel chair. He then brings out two tables covered in barbed wire.  Abyss goes to powerbomb Sting off the walkway and through the tables but the referee stops him.  Abyss then throws Stinger into the ring and works over his neck.  Sting fights back and lands a Stinger Splash, then goes to work over Abyss' leg.

James Mitchell hands the title belt to Abyss.  Sting ducks out of the way though and takes Abyss down to apply the Scorpion Deathlock.  Way too early in the match though and Abyss hits the ropes.  Abyss surprises Sting and plants Sting into the mat apron.

A ref bump leads to all sorts of madness as Abyss goes for the bag of thumbtacks.  Unfortunately for him, Sting has time to get the baseball bat and he introduces it to Abyss.  Stinger goes for the pinfall but James Mitchell breaks up the three count.

Sting empties the thumbtacks all over the ring but this gives Abyss time to recover.  He chokeslams Sting into the tacks.  Drop toehold by Sting and Abyss' face goes into the tacks.  Sting places Abyss in the Scorpion Deathlock.  Abyss is tapping out but the referee's attention is on James Mitchell.  Sting releases Abyss and places Father James in the Scorpion Deathlock.

The referee has lost control of the match as Sting takes things outside and ties Abyss to a cable attached to a pulley.  Abyss finds himself suspended over the ring as Sting uses Abyss as his personal pinata, using a chair instead of a stick.

Referee Rudy Charles finally convinces Sting to release Abyss.  Sting drags Abyss up the ramp.  Sting goes to put Abyss through the barbed wire covered table but Charles is protesting.  Sting clotheslines Charles and then plants Abyss through the table.  Charles disqualifies Sting.

WINNER:  Abyss by disqualification and new NWA World Heavyweight Champion!!!

Sting walks back towards the ring, apparently in a daze as Abyss lies in the wreckage of the table.  Sting doesn't seem to know where he is or what's going on.  Rudy Charles explains things to Sting.    The announcers explain that the title can change hands on a disqualification and that referee Rudy Charles gave Sting every chance to back off before disqualifying him.

Video recap of the brewing storm between Samoa Joe and the recently signed Kurt Angle.  The dream match of the decade is about to take place...

7.  Samoa Joe vs.  Kurt Angle= Jeremy Borash introduces the combatants.  Both men measure their opponent up and then things get underway as Angle clotheslines Joe out of the ring.  Joe grabs Angle by the legs and swings his head into the ring barrier.    Joe brings Angle in the ring but things don't last long.  Joe tosses Angle out of the ring and then starts the beatdown on Angle.  Joe grabs Angle and runs his head into the steel steps.  When referee Earl Hebner tries to assert his authority, Joe manhandles him, getting an ineffective  warning from Hebner.  Joe is finally irdered into the corner as Hebner counts Angle out.  Angle is busted open with blood dripping everywhere.  Angle staggers back into the ring.

Joe digs his fingers into Angle's wounds but Angle fights back with punches.  Angle gets a powerslam for his trouble and Joe goes back to work on Angle's head, blasting his cuts with a beefy forearm.   Angle tries his own series of forearms but Joe is too far in control and takes Angle down into the corner.  With Angle on the corner, Joe seems to be in control but Angle lands the gulliotine on Joe.

Joe discovers how much punishment he can take as Angle fights back to deliver a series of German suplexes on Joe.  Angle stuns Joe enough to go for pin but things aren't over yet.  Joe rebounds and hits the musclebuster on Angle, stunning the Olympic Hero.  Both men are dazed now and struggling to get back to their feet.  Joe tries to apply the Kokina Clutch but Angle slips out.  Angle lands the Olympic Slam and goes for the pinfall.  1,2,  kickout...

Angle means business as he pulls his strap down and applies the anklelock.  Joe holds out though and slips out, turning the tables on Angle and applying the Kokina Clutch.  Angle plays the same game though and puts the anklelock back on Joe until Joe escapes and drives Angle's head into one of the turnbuckles.  A second Olympic Slam and the anklelock is locked on in the center of the ring.  Joe is desperately reaching for the ropes but he can't hold it.  Joe TAPS OUT!!!

WINNER: Kurt Angle by submission

Angle basks in the limelight as the fans chant You tapped out.  Joe grabs the microphone and acknowledges that he tapped out to the better man tonight.  Joe goes to shake Angle's hand and asks for a rematch.    Angle brushes off Joe's handshake and walks away.  Angle smiles as Joe looks on in frustration.

Joe isn't finished with Angle though.  He grabs the microphone and warns Angle that it looks like he's going to have to do things the hard way.

A video recap of the match airs.  Afterwards, Tenay and West analyze the big main event as well as Joe's cryptic comments after the match.    Mike Tenay ends the show by saying "We are wrestling".
