12/21 TNA Impact on Spike TV: Mallory’s Ongoing Coverage of the Show
By Mallory Mahling
Tonight's show was taped December 11 at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. (1) Serotonin’s Frankie Kazarian (led by Raven) vs. Sting (with the championship belt he’d stolen/borrowed last week). Three members of Serotonin came at Sting with Kendo sticks, but he tossed them out of the ring quickly. Sting with a Scorpion Death Drop on Kazarian and a speedy victory.
Sting had bigger fish to fry. He told Abyss that he had until the end of the show to come out and shake Sting’s hand and accept his challenge. He insisted that Abyss come alone.
Mike Tenay and Don West welcomed viewers to the show. West said he had a severe ankle sprain from last week’s painful encounter with Kurt Angle.
Jeremy Borash was in the back with Rhino, who had a bone to pick with A.J. Styles. Rhino also warned Samoa Joe and Kurt Angle to stay out of his business.
Kurt Angle said he would give Joe every reason in the world to give him a rematch.
Raven was in the ring caning Kazarian. Creepy.

Borash was backstage in the middle of an interview with Eric Young (and his leg lamp) when Devon and Brother Ray took over the spot to talk about their upcoming tables match.
(2) The Naturals (w/Shane Douglas) vs. Team 3-D. Chase Stevens and Andy Douglas gave it their best effort, but it wasn’t long before the crowd was chanting for tables. Team 3D obliged by putting Andy Douglas through a table, and Shane Douglas couldn’t believe what he was seeing. Shane Douglas was furious and told the Naturals that the experiment was officially over.
Jeremy Borash was outside Joe’s dressing room when Tomko walked up and suggested that Borash take him to the production truck. Tomko had a tape he wanted to cue up to embarrass Abyss. Hmmm…the plot thickens.
Ron Killings was doing a Christmas

Santa (who looked suspiciously like Brother Runt) had arrived and was passing out presents.
This week Kevin Nash was having PCP train with pogo sticks—including some fat ass in a thong. Not pretty. There are times that Nash is just too cool for the room.
Konan was in the ring ranting. Actually, it was more like whining. A bitter Konan told Santa he was still waiting for his Miami Dolphins jersey from back in the day. Then he told Santa Claus to go to hell.
Santa told Konan that he should be full of good cheer, but he was being naughty and not very nice. He offered Konan a present, which Konan politely refused. (Just kidding.) Santa (Brother Runt) told Konan where he could go, and got power slammed.
B.J. James and his buddy, Kip, were headed to a WWE show in Knoxville. They showed some of the crowd, both inside and outside of the arena. They mocked
A.J. Styles said he had a problem trusting his partner, Joe. Joe came out of his dressing room and said he’d make Angle sorry he’d asked for a rematch.
Shane Douglas had a heartfelt message against smoking, and related his father’s battle with lung cancer.

America’s Most Wanted had come to a parting of the ways last week when James Storm had shocked the world with his actions, and Mike Tenay asked him about that. Storm ticked off a laundry list of complaints about Harris, never taking any of the blame himself.
Abyss’s music hit, and he came out to respond to the request Sting had made earlier in the show. Sting came out and told Abyss to stop worrying about his past; he can’t change his past, but he can change his future. Sting asked for a title shot at New Year’s Revolution.
Abyss started to shake hands with Sting, but Christian Cage appeared on the TNA Tron. He was somewhere with stark buildings and barbed wire and told Abyss he was doing a little investigating. Cage said the past would never let him forget; Abyss’s decision would affect the rest of his pathetic existence. Sting told Abyss he didn’t have to listen to Cage; all he had to do was shake Sting’s hand. It looked like Abyss was going to shake Sting’s extended hand. Instead, he grabbed him around the neck. Security hit the ring to bring it up.
Tomko came out and asked Abyss what his decision would be. Just then Cage snuck into the ring and took a night stick to the security staff, as well as Sting. Abyss came to the rescue with Sting’s baseball bat. Abyss handed the bat to Sting as James Mitchell berated him for doing so.

(3) Samoa Joe & A.J. Styles vs. Kurt Angle & Rhino. Rhino hit the ring ready to rip Styles apart. Kurt Angle came out with his own agenda. This wasn’t a tag team match as much as it was two grudge matches. Joe and Angle took off in one direction and Rhino and Styles in another.

The action finally made its way to the ring. Angle easily suplexed Joe and Styles, then put Styles in an ankle lock. Joe broke it up. The action was fast and furious. Styles eventually made the winning pin.
Joe and Angle went at it again after the match. Angle wanted a rematch and put Joe in a submission hold. Joe screamed in pain, but would he give Angle the rematch?
There was never a dull moment tonight, with storylines being furthered in an artful way. The Abyss back story is an intriguing one, as is Sting’s role in it. The matches were short, but will probably play out nicely at “Final Resolution.”
