Wrestling Society X Real-time Recap
By Realtime Rickard
Wrestling Society X
Welcome to the premiere episode of Wrestling Society X, brought to you by World Wrestling Insanity.
“Realtime” Rickard here. Those crazy kids at MTV have launched their own wrestling show.
Musical Guests: Black Label Society. I’ve enjoyed my share of Black Label. Unfortunately it was Johnny Walker Black Label and not the band. The lead singer of Black Label Society joins Ernst and Kloss at the announce table. His musical set lasts about three seconds.
Bret Ernst and Kris Kloss are your hosts.
Tonight’s show features a ten man battle royal with two contracts for the WSX title match.
1. Matt Sydal (w. Lizzie Valentine) vs. Jack Evans Graphics introduce us to Matt and his sweetheart Lizzie Valentine. I like how the graphics enlighten the fans on each wrestler’s finishing move. Evans gets tossed out of the ring then Sydal dives over the top rope onto Evans. Evans fires back with some martial arts kicks then cartwheels over the top rope and onto Sydal. The announcers point out that there are no mats outside the ring. Sydal powerbombs Evans but he can’t get the three count. Evans bounces off the ropes but Valentine grabs his leg. Evans drags her into the ring. 630 splash by Evans and he covers Sydal. Valentine gives Evans the eye. Is she thinking of hooking up with him?
WINNER: JACK EVANS
Hype Video: A look at some of the tag teams headed for Wrestling Society X
Interviews: Short promos by some of the participants in the Wrestling Society X Rumble including Justin Credible, Teddy Hart, and Kaos.
WRESTLING SOCIETY X RUMBLE: The match starts with two competitors. Every 45 seconds a new competitor enters the ring. Once all ten wrestlers are in the ring, the two contracts go into play. Just to keep things interesting, there’s ladders, chairs, electricity, and an exploding ring,
Credible and Hart attack Kaos as soon as he enters the ring. Shooting Star Press by Hart on Kaos. He’s getting beat like a drum
Vampiro enters the ring and floors Credible with a solid punch. Vampiro goes after Hart then Kaos and he’s cleaning house!
ELIMINATION: Puma eliminated by Vampiro
The announcers talk about how 6PAC is a favorite. He’s held championships in every major federation and he was a founding member of DX. (not really as DX was originally comprised of Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and Chyna but it sounds good)
New Jack chases Hamrick into the ring. The announcers talk about how Hamrick’s country lifestyle and beliefs find him clashing with New Jack.
ELIMINATION:Hamrick gets eliminated by New Jack.
ELIMINATION: New Jack eliminates himself. Jack goes outside the ring after Hamrick and he’s told he’s been eliminated. The announcers talk about how New Jack is the most dangerous man in wrestling.
New Jack is none too happy and he takes out the referee. New Jack then goes after Hamrick for further abuse. New Jack drops a flying elbow onto Hamrick, putting both men through a table.
ELIMINATION: Alcatraz is eliminated
10, Youth Suicide enters the ring carrying a metal bucket full of thumbtacks. He empties the thumbtacks all over the ring then plants the bucket on Credible’s head followed by a kick to the nuts.
ELIMINATION: Teddy Hart is eliminated by Justin Credible
The two contracts are now in play!
Youth Suicide sets up a ladder and goes for one of the contracts but Vampiro stops him then slams him into assorted thumbtacks. Meanwhile, 6Pac has made his way to the top of the ladder and grabbed a contract.
Youth Suicide climbs the ladder but he’s knocked off by Credible and he falls into one of the exploding panels at ringside.
ELIMINATION: Youth Suicide has been eliminated by Justin Credible.
Vampiro makes it to the top of the ladder and grabs the final contract.
Next week: Wrestling, electricity, and a tank full of piranha! Where are Beavis and Butthead when you need them???
Back in the ring, Vampiro and 6Pac are fighting. They’re not waiting until next week for their title match.
Decent show. Lots of high spots and crazy over the top stuff like exploding rings, electricity, tables, and thumb tacks. This show seems to be a hybrid of Ring of Honor and Combat Zone Wrestling.
Right now, it looks one of the show's biggest problems (besides WWE signing away their talent) will be dealing with the extensive commercial interruptions. There are way too many commercials, especially when you factor in that WSX is only a thirty minute show.
