THE WWE FANTASY GAME:  WEEK 1 - THE REVIEW
After a topsy-turvy week of “decision decisions”, let’s see how the fallout from the Royal Rumble panned out in the WWE Fantasy game!

THE CURRENT WWI FANTASY LEAGUE TOP 10!
01: Millennium Men - 653 pts
02: Torch Wood - 651 pts
03: A Team They Call Swish - 632 pts
04: Charisma's Peeps - 613 pts
05: AJ Styles - 599 pts
06: ChristianCoalition - 589 pts
07: CMPunk4Life - 586 pts
08: ReturnOfTheNewBlack - 585
09: SuperJiggy - 580pts
10: I've GOT 2 WORDS 4 U!!!!! - 573 pts

“The Millennium Men” are still in the lead, ahead of my “Torch Wood”, but it is now only by 2 points, with “A Team They Call Swish” still in third, although they were top after ECW.  This week’s biggest scorer however, was “You Should Have Kept Claudio”, who scored a big ol’ 189 points this week.

In the overall rankings, “The Millennium Men” sit in joint 58th, while “Torch Wood” are in a sizeable group of 62nd placed teams.

And don’t forget, you can still join in the fun, by signing up to the WWE Fantasy Game, hitting the “Join League” link, and entering the following information:

The league name is: worldwrestlinginsanity
And the password you will require is: guttman

We now have 38 teams…let’s see if we can hit 40!  And as ever, our Very own Mike Rickard, care of
wrestleinfo.com, will be supplying a small prize at the end of the game.

This Week's MVP (that isn't necessarily Montel Vontavious Porter...)
It would have to be Doctor Thuggypants himself, John Cena.  He won the Tag Team Titles with Shawn Michaels on RAW, as well as appearing on Smackdown, and cutting a promo there.  All this helped score him 52 points, ahead of HBK with 47 points this week, and far ahead of Lashley who scored 31.

Bust Of The Week
Call me controversial if you want, but I’m declaring that The Undertaker was the biggest bust this week.  I say “controversial” because King Booker only scored 3 points, to Undertaker’s 10, and they both cost $5 million.  However, Booker only appeared on one show this week, while Undertaker appeared on all three.  Now, while you could hardly expect him to score Title & Speciality match points and what not, but for your three appearances, all you got were 3 sets of appearance points and a finisher (the chokeslam on Test).  He could, and probably should have done better, especially since I bet a lot of people picked him this week.

Dark Horse Of The Week
This one stands out if you check the “Superstar Rank” page, because it runs; Cena, HBK, Lashley, Melina…

By stepping in the ring for her, as she put it, “First Contenders” match on RAW, she ended up with an impressive 23 points this week.  She was on screen 3 times in total on RAW, which largely helped, and the funny thing is, you didn’t even get Finisher points for her Muta Lock!

Also, having scored 23 points this week, The Miz deserves a shout out, as he, at $2.5 million, is the same price as Melina, did well, having , effectively, main-evented Smackdown (for the second week in a row, by the way) using his finisher The Mizard Of Oz, to get the win over Matt Hardy.

THE WWE FANTASY GAME:  WEEK 2 - THE PREVIEW
As of right now, the only thing of substance that the WWE is giving away in their previews for any of the shows is that Undertaker will make his decision tonight on RAW, as to who he faces at Wrestlemania.  However, I wouldn’t be so sure he will.  Mainly because it would take a LOT of heat out of the No Way out match made by Vince on Smackdown if he were to, because the reason for that match existing is because there is tension between the four men involved as to whom Undertaker will be facing.  If he chooses tonight, that tension ends, and then there’s no point in having that match.  I would expect some shenanigans which mean he doesn’t reveal who he’s facing.

It does tell us a few things however.  The first is that, obviously, Undertaker will be on RAW tonight.  And if things go down, the way I think things will go down, I think that we’ll see more than him just standing there, and potentially, a match isn’t out of the question.  However, if a match does happen, I would fancy it to be next week, when RAW is moved, to try and not lose as many viewers as they normally would.  Either way, I think there are more than appearance points in the offering.  HOWEVER, it could just as easily be the reverse, with Undertaker turning up and doing nothing but stand there.  He’s a man of few words is Undertaker.

Another thing it tells us is that it’s likely that Batista will be there.  Cena turned up on Smackdown to hear what Undertaker had to say for himself, so the opposite could just as easily happen.  And unless creative have lost the plot, it’ll be Batista that Taker goes for, and you can’t expect Batista not to be there when it happens, can you?

Personally the scenario that is flooding into my head is that you have a scenario much the same as the end of Smackdown, with the interested parties in the ring.  However, I fancy Rated RKO to put in an appearance just before the decision is rendered and attack whoever.  And to go further, I’d fancy a tag match to be set up with Rated RKO against 2 of Batista, HBK and Cena (the man left out being the one who was targeted earlier), with Undertaker sitting out completely.  However, how it goes down is a crapshoot, really.  I just wouldn’t believe WWE when they say the decision will be made tonight.

And don’t forget, Great Khali defeated Jeff Hardy, but didn’t win the title, since it was a count out win.  That said, it shows how they are keeping Khali involved and strong.  Also, while the match isn’t necessarily for this week, Melina is now the Number One Contender, and that match could happen at any time.

ECW is once again a tough call.  If I had to pick one guy this week, it would probably be Elijah Burke, given the events of McMahon’s “Fan Appreciation” bit last week.  That’s certainly the beginning of something, and I can see it being done with the sole purpose of making Burke a star, so I’d imagine that in the not too distant future there will be matches and he’ll be winning them.

Also, I’d expect the CM Punk/Matt Striker feud to continue, although, if I were a betting man, I’d say only Punk will see action this week, out of the 2 of them.  Also, having been left off the show after the first 30 seconds last week, I would fully expect Marcus Cor Von to have a match.  I would also expect to see something happen between Bob Holly, RVD, Test and Bobby Lashley.  However, if RVD really is on the outs with the WWE, as speculated by Meltzer last week, then I wouldn’t pick him expecting him to score big.

As for Smackdown, there is nothing on it aside from what was said on last week’s show, in that Batista will face Ken Kennedy again for the World Title (another reason why I don’t think Undertaker won’t choose tonight, because what if he chose Batista only to see Kennedy win the belt?).  Kennedy, frankly, doesn’t stand a chance in this match.  Indeed, I’d think about picking up Batista for your team, because it’s a 99.9999999999% guaranteed title retention with a possible RAW appearance to boot.

I’d also expect more from Kane and King Booker this week than they gave us last week.  I would also expect to see Finlay for some more comical shenanigans with the Boogeyman, as well as something involving Matt Hardy and Joey Mercury.  Also, if Smackdown stay true to form, the Tag Champs will face the Greasers in singles competition, with the heels winning.

If you think you have any worthwhile tips on who you think could score big points in the upcoming week, then please feel free to send them along to me!  Obviously, at this point, I'm asking for tips for week 3, and please, don't say people like Terry Funk, who isn't going to appear, but yet for some bizarre reason is still available, to deliberately throw people off.  This game is for fun, you know.  But other than that, all reasonable tips will get posted next week!

You can contact me by either e-mailing me at aaron24wood@hotmail.com, or if you are a member of the fabulous forums of this site, log on there and send me a Personal Message.

With that in mind, that’s all I got for this week’s picking, but I’ll be back soon enough for this week’s ECW show, which will be up as soon as it can be.  But for now, I believe I’ve fulfilled my contractual obligations, and for reading this, and continuing to support World Wrestling Insanity, you’re cooler than the other side of the pillow…

Hey, here's a good one.  What's the difference between a woman in a bath and a nun in a bath?  One's got soap in her soul and the other has hope...

I think I may have screwed that up...

Bye...
