Allen "Bad News Brown" Coage Passes Away

By James Guttman

...

I was shocked to read about the death of Allen "Bad News Brown" Coage on PWInsider.com and Slam Wrestling.

According to Slam(http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Wrestling/2007/03/06/3704792.html), Allen passed away Tuesday morning after complaining of chest pains. Three weeks ago, he underwent hip replacement surgery.

As many of you know, Coage appeared on Radio Free Insanity mere months ago. He was our guest for the December 17th show. It made the news even harder to take given how recently I had spoken with him. Bad News was an amazing guy to interview and was probably one of the most honest and open people you could hope to talk to. When the interview was over, I asked him if there was anything I could do to help him promote anything he might have going on. The only thing he asked for was a copy of World Wrestling Insanity. I sent it out the next day and was excited to get it to him. A guy I grew up following on TV with the Ghetto Blaster and box of rats wanted to read my book.  As any 80s WWF fan will tell you, that's pretty exciting.

Since I was a kid, I was always a Bad News fan. That's the main reason I had him on the show. I'm shocked to hear this terrible news.  I'm content in the fact that I got to speak to him before he passed away. At the same time, I'm very saddened to hear that I won't get to talk to him again. He will definitely be missed.

The thoughts of all of us here at WorldWrestlingInsanity.com go out to Allen's wife and children as well as all his friends that knew him much better than I did and his fans around the world.
