Random Thoughts From Matt Dawgs: Nitro Remains Manialess, The End of the Masterlock, John Locke's Dad, The Steroid Thing, We Still Love Bobby, and More

Random Thoughts, Opinions, Questions and Observations.

WE LOVE BOBBY!!!!

Hi there people and welcome back to another Random Thought’s column where I get some things off my chest and basically just discuss what is going on in that pretty sexy head of mine in regards to the world of professional wrestling. Enjoy, discuss, debate.

Well another week down and another week of weird happenings, some good wrestling and big stories outside the ring.

On RAW, Bobby Lashley broke the Masterlock, FINALLY it has been broken which leads me to believe that they won’t do it anymore unless Masters says it is a fluke.

During the Masterlock challenge, why did Jerry Lawler say that Chris Masters was surprised by Lashley coming out and that Masters obviously didn’t expect Lashley when it was advertised on WWE.com that he would be accepting the challenge since FRIDAY? Doesn’t Lawler read WWE.com? He plugs it every other week and has a lap top sitting on the desk in front of him.

Another week gone by, and another week Johnny Nitro doesn’t have a Mania match. Unbelievable.

JBL is great on the mic. Just thought I’d point that out.

I feel bad for Bobby. The pet project of Vince isn’t getting over. Even with the whole breaking the Masterlock thing. As Eugene was getting his head shaved, the crowd breaks out into an “AUSTIN” chant. I don’t think that is what McMahon had in mind when he wanted Lashley to get over.

Please tell me Eugene is turning heel. Long overdue.

Where is Cryme Tyme?

Several WWE wrestlers were implicated in a steroid distribution ring. Kevin Kelly is Nostradamus as he stated earlier in his “Big Picture” audio update found at ClubWWI.com that he expected some WWE wrestlers’ names to come up in the investigation. Or maybe the distributors were where Kevin got his roids from too? Hmmmmmm.

Fact is, Wrestlers use Roids. Big deal. Sure it isn’t good for them and I am sure long term effects can happen after using them for years upon years but the fact is, these are grown men who are capable of decision making. If they want or need to use roids, HGH or whatever else they want to use, who are you or I to stop them. I am going to be completely honest, when I was wrestling and trying to break into the business, if I were able to afford roids and new someone I could trust to help me get them, you best believe I would have. It is as simple as this, whatever you hear from most wrestlers involved in this is probably a lie. Unfortunately the realization is that most wrestlers, especially main eventers need to be on some sort of performance enhancer in order to be successful. Maintaining their physique and training the proper amount is difficult due to travel. the week after mania, half the roster is going to tour Europe for 12 straight days. it isn’t easy to go to a foreign country and find gyms that are good, while eating right, while traveling between 7 countries in 12 days. They need HGH, roids and whatever else they take to keep their appearance and help their body.

If people start denying or saying that they took it for injuries, chances are, it is a lie. If it were legal or wasn’t frowned upon, you'd be surprised of the amount of people in WWE who take it. But since it isn't legal and "banned" by the company, everyone is going to deny using it or say they took it to heal up. that is just the facts.

I am not knocking Edge for taking it nor am I knocking Mysterio, Orton, Guerrero, etc. There is however a huge difference between taking it and abusing it. Someone like Scott Steiner, well lets just say that in 20 years, if he is still alive god willing, is going to have some negative side effects to using for so long.

Angelina Jolie adopted another child. On one hand, it is nice that she is doing something good for orphaned kids by providing them with a better life. On the other hand, I am pretty positive that the United States has several orphaned and under privileged children here in America.

Lindsey Lohan is hot again. Just saw some pics of her in NYC partying, her blond hair look rocks.

24 is a great show. I would so mark out if next season is based on Jack Bauer invading China by himself to hunt down Audrey’s killers. He also proved why he is the best hero on TV. He just found out that the love of his life is dead and 10 minutes later he is offing Russian terrorists with accurate precision head and heart shots while walking around with rib fragments floating around his insides. He then calmly lands a flying drone with nuclear capabilities. Never mind that he was emotionally distraught after spending 18 months being tortured, killing his friend and seeing several thousand people killed in a nuclear blast. He puts all that aside to kill bad guys. He rocks.

Does anyone know if Studio 60 is gone for good? Damn good show.

Rumors on “NEWZ” sites are claiming that they will have a screwjob ending to the Batista/Taker match at Mania. FYI….this isn’t 1986. WWE wouldn’t do a screwjob finish in a MAIN EVENT of the BIGGEST PAY PER VIEW of the YEAR. Taker is winning, CLEANLY. You heard me predict it here first.

Speaking of “NEWZ”, if people continue to post “NEWZ” information on the board from sites like “www.wemakeupnewzonwrestling.com” I am going to start suspending people. Seriously, I am getting tired of the nonsense.

More names announced for the WWE Hall of Fame. The Wild Samoans of Afa and Sika along with the Original Sheik. Safe bet is that Sheik is inducted by Sabu and Rob Van Dam. Even safer bet is that Sabu will be released by WWE before Summerslam.

William Shatner inducting Jerry Lawler. All because Kevin Dunn didn’t think people would know Lance Russell. For shame.

Rebecca DiPietro got released. Bet it won’t take long before we hear that Dave Batista is no longer seeing Rebecca.

On the flip side, Joy Giovanni is coming back apparently. Says so on her My Space. How long before we hear that she is dating a married wrestler backstage?

TNA oh TNA, what are we going to do with you? I don’t understand how no one in management sees that fitting 50 people into a one hour show is NOT PRODUCTIVE. 3 minute matches filled with tons of spots and no psychology ISN’T PRODUCTIVE.

Kim Kardashian’s Sex Tape is available for download. If anyone would like to send me a copy, please do.

John Locke’s dad is the original Sawyer. The one that Sawyer on the island is looking for to kill. Mark my words.

Kimbo Slice is fighting Ray Mercer in an MMA rules match. For those who do not know who Kimbo is, you tube him. He is fun to watch.

Paul London and Brian Kendrick, you are NOT going to Wrestlemania.

Hulk Hogan is considering a Legends World Tour. Not for nothing, but I think this can be successful as long as he doesn’t make it a regular thing and try to get it a weekly timeslot. If he does try to book arenas worldwide with available talent like himself, Piper, Goldberg, Nash, Hall, DDP, etc, I think he can make a few dollars. People love nostalgia……………..

But not as much as WE LOVE BOBBY!!!!

CM Punk is actually being booked well. They are teasing the suspense of him joining the New Breed or the Originals and instead of making him a full fledged babyface, they tease that he is a heel. Watch the match on ECW again. He saw Kevin Thorn interfere, plain as day. Instead of arguing with Thorn or Burke, he capitalized by using the “Go To Sleep” on Holly and picked up the win. The moral, he wanted the win first. Doesn’t mean he is joining the New Breed, it just means that they are finally going the original CM Punk route of HIM FIRST, ask questions later.

Your next American Idol, Sanjaya Malakar!!!! No, just kidding.

Great snag by JG getting Paul Bearer to be a guest on RFI this week. If you aren’t a ClubWWI.com member yet, you should join. It’s well worth it.

WWE 24/7 is showing Wrestlemania 3 to tie in with the 20th anniversary and it is cool because they are airing it with pop up facts ala VH1 Pop Up Video.

They are also airing Mania XIX which has Hogan vs. McMahon in a street fight, Austin’s last match as well as the infamous botched shooting star press by Brock Lesnar.

Hey, remember when Kurt Angle had a broken neck? Ha, the good old days. Good thing to hear that he is 100% healthy now, no neck problems and contemplating going to compete in MMA.

Why is TNA’s slogan “This is Wrestling” when there is rarely any wrestling on the show?

With TNA working on an agreement with All Japan Pro Wrestling, does that mean that WWI’s own D-Lo Brown will be returning to TNA?

Mania is shaping up to be one hell of a card. I don’t understand why some people are knocking it. On paper, I am very interested in seeing this show. Cena vs. Michaels, Taker vs. Batista, Umaga vs. Lashley, Money in the Bank, Kane vs. Khali all have me intrigued. I think it will deliver.

The Hall of Fame is a solid class this year as well and will now be airing on USA the day before Mania. Goof stuff. Unfortunately though, the class with Hogan and Piper is still the best class ever.

Vince McMahon vs. Bobby Lashley on RAW? I call shenanigans. Bait and switch 2 weeks in a row. No way they actually go through with it. However on the flip side of that coin, Dave Meltzer is reporting that Vince McMahon wants to be in the main event of Summerslam. Don’t know why. Don’t know against whom. But he is making plans to headline the second biggest show of the year.

Anyway, that’s it for now people. See you all next week.

Feel free to discuss whatever you’d like in the “Anger Management” section of the message board or whichever section you see fit.

World Wrestling Insanity writer Matt Dawgs is the bread and butter of the World Wrestling Insanity family. His future is bright and once James Guttman comes into a large sum of money, you can expect Matt will be getting tons of it thrown at him, at least half of it. Matt also moonlights as a professional wrestler/manager in the NY/NJ Indy scene. He is legit afraid of getting on Homicide’s bad side but thinks he is a cool dude in general. He also is a funny guy. If you have any questions, corrections, feedback, comments and ideas, he can be reached at matt@worldwrestlinginsanity.com. If the feedback is negative, you can e-mail Matt at insanity@worldwrestlinginsanity.com.

P.S. – In case you didn’t know, there is a WRESTLING BOOKthat is out titled “World Wrestling Insanity”. It is a damn fun read so I suggest you run out and get it today. If you already have your copy, read it. If you already read your copy, read it again. It is funny. Like me.

Also, don’t forget to check out ClubWWI.com. It can be found by clicking the banner at the top or the link on the side of this page. Check out all the new audio updates and features found there. Some good stuff including all of James Guttman’s past Radio Free Insanity broadcasts as well as all new, uncut interviews with some of wrestling past and present names. Good stuff, people.
