The Impact Report: Return Of The Cho-Cho-Chosen One

By Saad Naeem
Apr 12, 2007, 22:43

...

Ladies and Gentlemen, brace yourself. Tonight Impact will blow you away. We have a HUGE surprise on our hands and believe you me, you DON’T wanna miss this. But the question is what is so monumental that you should tune in? Well in the words of “The Game” Triple H “tonight The King of Kings goes back on his throne.” So be there or be square, slapnutz.

Borash is in the back with LAX who promise to deliver a huge surprise for Team 3D tonight. Short but Impactful.

Video package recapping last week’s events and developments.

There will be five

Team Angle (with Sting) makes its way out to the ring. Matching attire sported by Joe, Stinger, and Kurt as they are wearing blue Lockdown shirts. Sting apologizes to Angle for not returning his phone calls but is now an official member of Team Angle for Lockdown. But Mr. Eager McStinger wants to know who is Lucky number 5. Patience Borden, patience. You will find out who the fifth member of Team Angle is…but in due time. Joe gets on the microphone and questions Angle’s motives. Angle promises to reveal numero cinco by the end of the night.

TNA Theme Song Plays

Is this Trademark Infringement?

Oh my God. They did it. Kevin Nash is in the house and he’s gonna unveil to us something that has been brewing for weeks. Tonight all the impersonations, all the buzz on the net reaches it peak. Tonight Big Daddy Cool presents “Macho Man” Jay Lethal: The Finished Product. When Lethal comes out, he is fully dressed in Macho Man attire. It’s complete with the hat, the sunglasses and even a blonde streak in his hair. I must say, they did quite a fine job. Jay Lethal looks very much so like Randy Savage. Good job from the make-up department. Nash gives him the new name “Black Machismo” and both men shake hands as Sabin comes to the ring for the match.

Match 1: Jay Lethal vs. Chris Sabin in a non-tile match

We Love Machismo! But Chris Sabin doesn’t. He starts the match off in control. Jay comes back with a hotshot on the ropes and even a double axe handle smack off the top rope. He tries for another aerial attack but get crotched on the turnbuvkle. The X Division Champion connects with the Garvin Randy Orton Stomp and a splash gets a two count for it. Lethal escapes a chinlock and regains the upper hand with a couple of rights. Momentum is in his corner as he nails some elbows and a clothesline for the two count. But Sabin has some left in him too as he connected with a tremendous Tornado DDT. But despite all his effort, in the end it was Jay Lethal that scored the victory after an elbow from the top ala The Macho Man himself.

Winner: Jay Lethal

Mike Tenay and Don West go over the Lockdown card.

There’s no Title in Team

Leticia is in the back with Team Cage. Captain Christian is ticked off for the “whoever gets the pinfall at Lockdown gets a title shot” stipulation and lets it be known. The rest of the team couldn’t be happier and are all smiles. But they agree to put tonight before Lockdown and concentrate on winning. They have the numbers advantage and that can only help. But in the end, all the guys just want their title shot. AJ Styles said it best: “That’s why I’m here, that’s why they’re here.”

Who’s a good doogie, who’s a good doggie

In the locker room, Borash is with Kevin Nash and Black Machismo. In comes Sonjay Dutt in the Oz costume who gives us a few “fa-get-about-its” and then walks away.

Camera spans over to Eric Young sitting in the corner. In walk Robert Roode, James Storm, Ms. Brooks, and Jacqueline Moore. Roode takes this time to tell Petey Williams that he will be victorious at Lockdown. Then he orders around Eric Young like his little bitch and tells him not to move from the corner. Or else!

Match 2: Robert Roode & Jacqueline Moore vs. Petey Williams & Gail Kim

Bad blood has been brewing between these ladies for a long time. Gail Kim hates Jackie so much she doesn’t even wait for the bell. On the other side of the gen-dar Petey Williams and Robert Roode fight to the outside. Roode takes care of the Canadian Destroyer and comes back into the ring. He hits a hard back suplex on Gail Kim and takes her out for while. She seems to be hurt and the referee attends to her on the outside. It’s 2 on 1 for a while. But when the ref wants t take Kim to the back she shakes it off and charges into the ring. She goes after Moore and the catfight distracts the ref. Petey Williams was about to hit the Canadian Destroyer on Roode but James Storm comes on the apron and distracts him. That proves costly because Robert rolls up Petey and gets the win.

Winners: Robert Roode & Jacqueline Moore

After the match Chris Harris charges to the ring to get him some of James Storm. He cleans house and even grabs Moore but Storm gets him from behind before any damage can be done. The numbers are too much for him and he gets beaten down. Eric Young also came out with a chair which sent Storm and Moore running. Eric was about to hit Roode, but Rob ordered Young to put the chair down and EY unwillingly complied.

Guns N’ Angels

In the back Borash tries to get a few words from “The Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels regarding his actions toward Jerry Lynn. He says nothing. Man of no words I guess.

When he walks away, LAX come into the scene with a tied up brother Runt. Konnan’s got a gun and they’re coming to the ring.

Shocking Spike

LAX is in the house and guess who they got with them. It’s little Brother Runt and he’s all tied up, literally. They taped his mouth shut and his hands are tied. Konnan (with crutches) called out Team 3D and makes an example out of Runt. He tells us that Runt is gonna pay for everything that the US Government has done to Latinos. With that, he pulls out a taser gun and is about to down Runt with a shock. But to the rescue come Brother Ray and Brother Devon. They want LAX to let Runt go but Konnan doesn’t care. “Just like the US Police, I’ll shoot first and ask questions later” (Konnan’s words not mine). He shocks Runt with the Taser Gun and high tails out the ring. Some TNA medics come out to help Runt and Team 3D carry their little bro to the back.

Match 3: Samoa Joe vs. AJ Syles

How many times we have seen this match but never does it cease to amaze me. But tonight the “numbers advantage” for Lockdown is up for grabs. Who ever wins this match for their respective team will always be the one with more people in the ring at any given time at Lethal Lockdown. Early in the match, Joe goes after the legs of Styles. Joe has the early control of the match with a huge knee drop on Styles. Styles finally fights back and connects with a flying forearm. He actually slammed Joe and hit him with a knee drop for the two count. Styles remains in control with a shoulder block in the corner and a dropkick to the knee. The Samoan Submission Machine finally comes back with his swift punches and elbows and absolutely slams Styles in the corner. He hits a couple of forearms and a powerslam for the two count. But AJ comes back with a springboard inverted DDT. Joe went for a kick off the top but Styles pulled the ref in the way. AJ tries for a Styles Clash but Joe blocks. Joe hits his knee to face in the corner and sets up for the Muscle Buster. But Styles reverses into a rollup which Joe reverses into the Kokina Clutch. The members of Team Angle and Team Cage run out to the Impact Zone and start fighting each other outside.

BUT THEN…..JEFF JARRETT makes his way to the Impact Zone!! The King of the Mountain clocks AJ Styles in the head with his guitar and the crowd actually goes wild. Jeff Jarrett puts up a five signaling he is the fifth member of Team Angle. Joe covers Styles and gets the win for his team.

Winner: Samoa Joe

No Adrenaline Rush recap video this week. Instead we get an awesome Lockdown hype up package. Everyone gets a sentence or two as to why they’ll be victorious at Lockdonwn..

Saad Says…

WOW!!!
I am utterly shocked. Jeff Jarrett was the most hated man in TNA for a very long time and now look at this. The fans cheer him like he was Kurt Angle. But I agree with this decision on TNA’s part. Turning Jarrett face was a great thing for his return. Now things can be mixed and matched. We get to see new rivalries and new allies for the King of the Mountain and this can lead to exciting stuff in TNA. It was a monumental comeback and I for one am glad to see him back.

Lockdown is setting up to be a great pay per view. Everything from Lethal Lockdown to the electrified steel cage match sounds exciting. Some might argue that seeing every match in a cage might get repetitive and boring. That’s where TNA booking has gotten a bit smart. They have added gimmicks to just about every match to make it different than the last. Whether it be a blind fold, a special guest referee or 10,000 volts each match is different.

I guess that just about does it for me. If you have any suggestions, comments or criticisms then please do tell. My e-mail address is Naeem920@gmail.com or you can hit me up with a PM at the Insanity Message Boards. The username is Naeem920.

See you back here in a day or two with The Heat Report.

Until then I'm Saad Naeem and that was Impact.
