Bret Hart…what you’re still reading? Are you as clueless and stupid as Uncle Ralph? Stop reading and go watch it. This week I will take no offense. He is live in the Byte This Studio.

Todd of course begins with his tribute to Eddie Guerrero. Todd talks about riding in a limo with Eddie to WM-XX and how much Eddie loved the fans. All the emails sent to WWE.com will be compiled into a book that will be presented to Vickie Guerrero. (Nice touch WWE, very nice) Byte This shows an excellent video of Eddie’s life, career, and family. James had asked me, like he asked all of you, to write about our favorite Eddie moments, I did not, and will not. I really cannot look back and say there was one moment for me. I have been a fan of Eddie every since I saw him in WCW, and I loved everything he did in the WWE. (even spraying crap all over Big Show.) I would rather say that his entire career as a whole was a moment of pure magic that will never happen in just such a way again. And I would give up all those great memories to have him alive and with those he loved; which is far more important than the fleeting fame he had.

Bret and Todd are seated and talking. Bret first talks about Eddie, what a good kind man he was. They switch gears as Todd says to Bret’s DVD. Bret likes the way the DVD came out and he is very thankful to those who helped him put it together in the way he wanted it. He is very glad that he and Vince came to an understanding and that the DVD could focus on all the high points and positive moments of Bret’s career and not be another Warrior Job. He and Vince are on speaking terms and Vince did everything possible to make sure Bret was happy with the DVD.

Bret looks to be in good shape, very relaxed and laid back. He feels good and his health is good, but he will never get in the ring again. (I believe him) He brings up the concussion but not the stupid lout that caused it. Footage is shown of Bret’s very first match in Stampede Wrestling. Bret says he was never forced in wrestling, he was coaxed. Bret reminisces about his European fans. The Anvil loved the DVD and was very happy that there was so much of the Hart Foundation. Bret admits he was never much of a talker; he let Jim do most of the talking. Bret would love to have one last match with Kurt Angle (so do we). Aside from Kurt he does not mention one single other modern (new WWE) wrestler when talking about guys he would want to wrestle if he could.

Wow! I remember that commercial: “Go get him champ!” (The kid gets the sunglasses) Bret doesn’t have any of those sunglasses left. Todd wanted a pair.

A montage video of Bret throughout the years is shown.

He talks more about not being a very good interview…I hate to say this, but he still isn’t this is really dragging. He started wearing the sunglasses to get over his fear of the camera.

Bret mentions that he has not seen anyone apply the sharpshooter correctly.
Bret prefers to wrestle guys who are the mid-range in size.
Gorilla Monsoon came up with the Excellence of Execution.

WM-13 Stone Cold vs. Bret is brought up and clips are shown. Bret again says that is was probably the best match both men have ever had.

Bret doesn’t miss the spotlight. He feels his career is done even though it did not end the way he wanted it to. He does mention that particular lout this time. He regrets never getting to pass the Torch. Todd brings up Goldberg and Bret talks about “the kick” and how it was the one time he was not able to protect himself. Thanks Bill.

Bret ends the show by thanking his fans.

Calls to Bret

First two calls were dead air.

Vickie: Bret doesn’t know when he will get to Pittsburgh, a town that reminds him of Canada. Bret is just living his life.

Kathy: He has no interest in getting back into wrestling in any capacity, especially as an on air character.

Deanne. She brings up Survivor Series ’97 (and a chill fills the room). She gets hung up on. Bret changes the subject fast.

Brian: Bret doesn’t know if he will ever say good-bye to his fans via WWE TV.

Al: Bret’s favorite opponent was Curt Henning who he puts over as a wrestler who is safe to work with.

Last caller lost out on a signed DVD by not talking. Todd takes it.

Word Association with Bret.

The Dungeon: A Torture Chamber.
British Bulldog: He misses him.
Stone Cold: Great Adversary.
Ribbing: Owen.
Life on the Road: Suitcases.
Other People Using the Sharpshooter: (long pause) Not the Excellence of Execution
Eric Bischoff: He was a sweetheart and a good guy.
The Hart Foundation: Greatest Tag Team ever.
Bruno Sanmartino: First Class Champion.
Stu Hart: (long pause) Stretcher.
Superstar Billy Graham: One of a Kind.
Dirt Sheets: Legitimate History.
Wrestlemania: Superbowl.
The Hitman: He doesn’t know.
The Hart Family: Still Standing.
Kurt Angle: The Best there is.

I know Bret is an amazing wrestler; but he just is not a very good interview, and it has nothing to do with his stroke, because he never was good, as he himself honestly admits. It is hard to describe something or someone as interesting but at the same time dull; but that is how Bret came across. I do not think he did himself any favors by being on Byte This. Bret did look good, and his memory was excellent. He is still extremely and I mean extremely angry and bitter towards Goldberg, he never came out and said it, but it was obvious. I honestly feel if someone ever asked who he resented more Vince or Goldberg, Bret would say Goldberg without a moments pause.
