UFC: The Ultimate Fighter 4, recap of Episode 11

Team Mojo had won 7 of the 8 preliminary fights.  Travis Lutter was the only member of Team No Love to make it to the semi-finals.  This week, Lutter and Pete Sell will battle it out to see who moves on to the middleweight final.

The episode started with a recap of Matt Serra’s welterweight semi-final match with Shonie Carter.  Serra moves on in the tournament…and Shonie will probably be making a personal appearance at a Hobby Lobby somewhere.

At the TUF house, Pete Spratt wanted to run through a wall for some reason.  He had shoulder pads and a helmet.  Mikey Burnett was sick of listening to Spratt talk about running through the wall, so he put on his swim goggles and charged the wall with a football in his hand.  Burnett managed to put a good-sized hole in the wall.  The next day, the hole was still there (with pink insulation sticking out of it) and Mikey was pretty sore.

These guys have been cooped up too long.

The guys—with dollar signs in their eyes--gathered in front of the TV to watch the video of the Season 3 finals.

At Team Mojo’s training session, Sell was getting tips from Chuck Liddell.

Back at the house, Gideon Ray was ticked off that Charles McCarthy had used his milk on his cereal.  They’re all getting pretty sick of each other.

Shonie started a card-flipping challenge in the house, which escalated into flipping paper plates and poker chips.  That led to a war game with the furniture tipped over and used as forts.  Somebody even had on a paper box helmet.  (Are they all ten years old?)  Pretty soon water bottles and Twinkies had been added as weapons.  They all had fun, they said.  The owners of the house probably weren’t quite as amused.

The next morning, the camera panned around the house at the mess they’d left.  Boys will be boys…some more juvenile than others.

Travis said that morale on Team Blue sucked and he was left to his own devices to train.  He was pleased to have Mark DellaGrotte as his coach as he prepared for his fight.  DellaGrotte thought the Sell/Lutter match could be the showstopper.

Fight day rolled around and both fighters were feeling confident.

The door shut on the Octagon and the fight was on.  The referee was Big John McCarthy.

Rounds one and two passed with Lutter the more dominant fighter.  Round three went right to the mat much like the other two and the referee finally stood them up.  As the clock ticked down to the final seconds, Lutter left it all in the ring.

The winner by unanimous decision was Travis Lutter, who moves on to the middleweight final.

Pete Sell was terribly disappointed, but Dana White said he’d shown how tough and durable he is.  White felt Sell would be a force to be reckoned with.

Lutter was excited about making it to the finals and received congratulations from former TUF Champ Forrest Griffin.

Next week is Patrick Cote vs. Edwin DeWees.
