Welcome to tonight's ongoing real time coverage of TNA Impact on Spike TV. You may need to hit "refresh" from time to time to see the latest update.
Tonight's show was taped at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida.
Jeremy Borash was outside Jim Cornette’s office. Cornette and Kurt Angle were shown arguing inside. Cornette reminded Angle he was up for some of the Year End Awards tonight, and he begged him to calm down. Angle got in Cornette’s face and said he’d get his rematch. “One way or the other,” he added ominously.
Mike Tenay and Don West welcomed viewers to the show.
(1) Chris Sabin & James Storm vs. Petey Williams & Christopher Daniels. Until recently, Chris Harris and James Storm had been tag partners. Storm had broken the team up with a beer bottle shot, the announcers explained. Good action in the ring, then Sabin introduced a steel chair to the mix. Jerry Lynn came out and took the chair away, but Storm used it to waffle Williams when the referee wasn’t looking. Jerry Lynn was not happy.
Samoa Joe was being helped down a staircase by a brunette lady friend. He was on crutches.
Ron Killings offered a sincere message about not smoking.

Backstage, Jeremy Borash had a question for James Mitchell. He wanted to know whose side Abyss was on – Mitchell’s or Sting’s. Mitchell ordered Abyss to use the night stick from his upcoming match on Sting. If he doesn’t, then Mitchell will share Abyss’s little secret with the world. He said he knows where all the bodies were buried.
An interviewer was speaking with Samoa Joe backstage. He said he would not be broken or beaten. And, no, Kurt would not get his rematch. Joe said Kurt needed to realize that Joe had moved on.
Brother Ray and Devon were in the ring. Devon flexed and Ray was running his mouth about taking care of business with LAX. Brother Runt, still in his Santa suit, came out and wanted to know where his brothers had been last week when LAX was “beating the snot” out of him. Ray berated Runt for picking a fight with Abyss. Ray took a look at the bottle in Runt’s hand and asked if he’d been drinking. Brother Ray got the beer bottle upside his head. Subsequently, Brother Runt was about to get a trip through a table. Suddenly LAX hit the ring and the you-know-what hit the fan. Security ran out to stop the brawl.

Returning from commercial, Runt was wielding the steel chair and working as a team with his brothers. The three of them laid out Homicide on a table and sent him through it.
Kevin Nash was using a limbo stick to train PCS. The only thing missing was some calypso music and a tropical sports drink.
Christian Cage was being interviewed about what Abyss’s Dirty Little Secret might be. Cage said Sting’s best days were behind him. Ouch.

At a WWE...err...competitor's show in Knoxville, VKM (a.k.a., the James Boys) were talking with fans outside the arena and dissing the Powers That Be of that other fed up north. Kip James had an opportunity to connect with an old girlfriend from Nashville who introduced him to her son. I see an episode of the Maury Show in Kip’s future. Kip, you are . . .
Ron Killings joined Tenay and West at the announce position. Killings said Hollywood was in his future.
(2) Lance Hoyt vs. Robert Roode. Short match. Miss Brookes distracted Hoyt, which gave Roode the opportunity to go for the winning pin.
Borash found a disheveled Eric Young in the restroom with lipstick marks all over his face. Hmmm…looked like Miss Brookes’ shade of lipstick.
(3) Night Stick on a Pole Match: Christian Cage (w/Tomko) vs. Sting vs. Abyss (w/James Mitchell). This was something of a handicap match, as Sting and Abyss went after Cage. Cage climbed up for the night stick, and Sting stopped him with a superplex off the top. While they were down, Abyss started to climb up, but instead went after Tomko. Tomko jumped into the ring and stopped Sting from getting the prize. While no one was looking, Tomko pulled the stick down, but Sting retrieved it and came after Cage. Sting was the first to use the night stick and won the match. Tomko jumped into the ring and held Sting while Cage started to swing for the fences (and Sting’s ribs). Abyss came to Sting’s rescue and Sting handed the nightstick to Abyss, which did not please Mitchell.
The decision about who gets the title shot will be made by James Cornette.

Time for 2006 Year End Awards. They were announcing the winners faster than I could type, so you can check them out at www.TNAWrestling.com.
Cornette announced that there would be a Three Way Elimination Match for the World Heavyweight Championship at Final Resolution among Cage vs. Abyss vs. Sting.
The nominees for Mr. TNA 2006 were:
- Phenomenal A.J. Styles
- Kurt Angle
- King of the Mountain Jeff Jarrett
- Legendary Sting
- Samoan Submission Machine Samoa Joe
The winner of Mr. TNA 2006 was Samoa Joe.
Joe looked very pleased and got a little smooch from his brunette lady friend.
Joe was in the ring with Mike Tenay to accept the trophy. The fans were cheering loudly.
Before Joe could finish his speech, Kurt Angle came out dragging Joe’s girlfriend and threatening to break her ankle if he didn’t get a rematch. Angle wouldn’t listen to reason and started to break her angle. Joe relented and gave him the rematch and Angle released the ankle. But there was no pleasing Angle, and he reached back down to finish breaking her ankle. Crutches notwithstanding, Joe headed up the ramp to save his girlfriend.
The show ended with a compilation of the best moments of 2006.

Another good show. It was heavy on drama and light on matches, but I enjoyed it. It's setting up Final Resolution very nicely.
