Welcome to WWI's real-time coverage of TNA IMPACT. You may need to hit "refresh" from time to time for the latest update.
This week's show was taped February 26 at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida.
Jeremy Borash introduced Tomko and Christian Cage. Cage grabbed the mic and gave Tomko a "pep talk." He tried to play up the family/team angle, but Tomko wasn't buying. Christian finally promised Tomko a title shot if he beat Samoa Joe tonight. After Tomko walked away, Christian called him "so damn selfish."
Mike Tenay and Don West welcomed viewers to Impact and showed Angle and Steiner brawling. Again. I'm thinking they don't like each other much.
Tenay got word that something was going on in Jim Cornette's office. Cornette was trying to reason with Kurt Angle, who made the mistake of putting his hands on the boss.
(1) Six-Man Tag Match: Jerry Lynn & Senshi & Jay Lethal vs. Chris Sabin & Austin Starr & Alex Shelley. Kevin Nash and Sonjay Dutt came down to the ring and spoke to Jay Lethal, who did his Macho Man impression. The other team wasn't amused and was on the attack.

Mr. Backlund joined Tenay and West at the announce position. It seems he's found his voice. Backlund had a bone to pick with Austin Starr, but his shouting distracted from the match. Backlund finally got up and went to the ring to tend to Senshi, who later returned to the match.
Fast-paced action, and when the dust had settled, Senshi had made the winning pin for his team. Backlund extended his hand to Senshi, who was reluctant to shake. They did bow to each other, though.
But Backlund wasn't through, and tried to put Starr in the chicken wing. Starr got out of Dodge real quick.
"A Day in the Life of Eric Young" aired, and it looked like a rather miserable existence. Robert Roode and Miss Brooks had a laundry list of things for him to do, most of them demeaning.
Sting was in a casket discussing the Deathbed Match and offering Abyss "a rebirth" or an eternity with the worms and maggots.
Borash encountered Abyss backstage, who was totally unhinged without the guidance of James Mitchell.
Scott Steiner headed down the ramp and was blindsided by Kurt Angle. The locker room emptied to try and separate the two.
(2) Scott Steiner vs. Chase Stevens of The Naturals. This one didn't last long at all. Steiner steamrolled him for the win.
You see, Steiner had other fish to fry. He wanted to send a message to Kurt Angle. Angle wasn't in a listening mood and pounced on Steiner again.
Cornette told Angle the whole show did not revolve around him. Oh yeah, was Angle's message as he put Cornette in an ankle lock. Cornette said he was the best friend Angle had in the company. "Hell with you," said and exasperated Cornette, and ordered Angle out of the building. Angle didn't leave willingly.

During the break, security and wrestlers escorted Angle to the door.
Wildcat Chris Harris said he was at 35 percent of his vision and didn't know if he'd be cleared to wrestle again. However, one way or another he would get a piece of James Storm. And that was a promise.
Alex Shelley aired Paparazzi footage of LAX's brutal attack on Johnny Rodz at his Brooklyn, New York, wrestling school. Why would they pick on Rodz? Well, because he's Brother Devon's friend and trainer. "Massacre in New York," he called it. Oscar worthy, to be sure.
Shelley started to bring out the stars of his movie, but Brother Ray came out instead. He didn't appreciate Shelley's treatment of a wrestling legend. Shelley backpedaled and said he didn't know LAX was going to do that.
Kevin Nash came out, which distracted Ray's attention. LAX attacked from the other side of the ring, and Homicide and Hernandez were ordered to "get the tables" by Konnan. Brother Ray went through the table. Ouch! Just wait til Brother Devon gets back from New York, where he is caring for his father-figure, Rodz.
(Commercial break)
Jeremy Borash introduced his guest, Samoa Joe. Joe was fired up and on a mission. "The son pays for the sins of the father," Joe said, in keeping with Cage's fatherhood comments earlier.
Abyss leapt into the interview, only to be grabbed around the neck and lectured by Joe, who told Abyss to stand up for himself.
(3) Main Event: Samoa Joe vs. Tomko. As Joe controlled the match, Cage was in his dressing room watching on a monitor. He was not pleased and headed out to the ring.
(Commercial break)
Back from the break, and Tomko had turned things around. He had Joe in a submission hold. Joe responded to the crowd's encouragement and battled back to his feet. He covered Tomko for a couple of near falls, then Cage ran out with a chair and gave Joe a cheap shot. Tomko made the winning pin, giving him an undeserved victory.
Joe put Tomko in a Kokina clutch, but Steiner ran out and was getting triple-teamed. Unprettier by Cage on Joe, then Abyss's music hit. He chased away Christian, Steiner and Tomko, only to slam Joe himself.
"DTA" as the saying goes…don't trust anybody.
