Bret “Hit Man” Hart: The Best There Is, The Best There Was, The Best There Ever Will Be

I've been a huge fan of Bret "Hitman" Hart ever since I was a little kid, so I was ecstatic when I heard that WWE was releasing this DVD.

I was elated to hear that Bret was working on the DVD himself, so I knew it would be awesome.

The career retrospective was incredible.  It started with his early life, and into his start in Stampede Wrestling.  This part of the DVD is especially interesting, cause you get to see Bret as a scrawny kid, just starting out in the business, battling with the likes of Dynamite Kid and Bad News Brown.

It moves on to his career in the WWE, with the really early days of the Hart Foundation, into his singles career and his feuds with HBK and Stone Cold, and the USA vs. Canada angle. The Survivor Series Screwjob and Owen's death are briefly touched upon, and rightfully so, since Bret doesn't these to be the focal points of his career.

WCW is talked about briefly, before Bret wraps up. The retrospective is about 2 hours.

All throughout, comments are given by Chris Benoit, Christian, Jim Ross, Bruce Prichard, and Vince McMahon.

The extras are pretty good, with some really funny moments, like when Bret recalls a time when Owen Hart crank-called their father Stu. Bret also talks about the origin of the sunglasses, the "Hitman" moniker, and the Sharpshooter. One extra I really liked was where Bret paid tribute to many of his friends who have passed away, such as Curt Hennig, British Bulldog, Bossman, Owen, Pillman, and Rick Rude.

The matches are the real reason I was excited about this DVD. Bret hand-picked 18 matches, all of which are really good in their own right. There's a variety of matches in here, ranging from tag team matches, to IC bouts, to World Title matches. Most of his most classic matches are on here, like his IC Match vs. Hennig at Summerslam '91, his match with Owen at WrestleMania X, the IC match vs. Bulldog at Summerslam '92, and his Submission Match vs. Austin at WrestleMania XIII.

There's some mid-80s Hart Foundation action in here, so if you're looking for some great tag team wrestling, check out the extra matches on Disc 1.

All in all, this is a fantastic DVD set, the one Bret Hart fans have been waiting for.

If you like the Hitman, pick this one up NOW!!!
